That is the part that hurts. If they lost 5-3 or 7-2 to a good pitcher then okay. But shutout by Irvin? 5+ ERA and righties batting .281 against him? I didn't see any pitch that was sharp or deceptive. Just BP. Maybe we were all teary eyed from the Felix speech.

I mean they slipped back into their trying to go yard every swing approach it looked like.

The more they struggle at the plate, the worse they get trying to do it by themselves.

All we needed in those at bats with a guy in scoring position was a base hit. They strike themselves out with those longer swings that are easier to scheme around for pitchers.

There is no one on this team coaching batting approach situationals at all.

That may help push him to the reliever role some f you have mentioned for next year. A trade is possible, but I think he has Flexen value at this point.

Marco is better than a lot of #4/#5 starters around the league. Since he isn't a flamethrower he should last longer as well. He has trade value. So does Robbie.

I would have to disagree with you on this. We would have to eat salary if we wanted a decent prospect back (#15-20 range) or get a non Top 30 prospect back in a salary dump.

This is where I get really annoyed. The league hits .300 against his fastball and under .200 against his curve and slider. We continue to take a first pitch fastball down the middle then chase the other two for strike 3. Scouting anyone?
