Now Joba needs to sign with an AL team so we can bomb both of them.

Cano really should stop being so greedy. He's already on the wrong side of 30, why should we pay him so much? He's not that great if he couldn't carry us to the playoffs last yr

I agree he isn't a 300 million dollar Player(I don't think anyone). History shows you don't pay that much. Pujols and Arod haven't done much since their contract.

Seattle is becoming big time players for Cano. As Much as I don't want to pay Cano that much for that long it would suck to not have him on this team but for Cano it would suck to play in seattle where u wouldn't here his name anymore. If money is more then winning and being known then he might go to seattle.

Money will trump winning and being known... always does.

Now I come here in peace so please don't take this as an attack, but the possiblity of Cano leaving, Granderson all but gone, A-Rod who knows what his story will be and Jeter not what he was/higher likelyhood of getting injured, where are the Yanks going to get their offense from? I think McCann will be solid, Tex needs to rebound and play well. Do you guys want Beltran? Are Elsbury or Choo realistic options?

According to Jon Heyman the Yanks are closing in on a 7 yr deal with Ellsbury. Thoughts?

I like Jacoby but 7 yrs seems to be kinda long

His injury history seems kind of overblown IMO. His 2010 injury was from a collision with Beltre.

I don't think he'll ever approach 30 home runs again (though he could hit around 20), but any power he provides should be considered a bonus. He's Damon with better baserunning and defense.

Enjoy watching him.

According to espn it is a done deal. 7 yr/142 million

Absolutely love it that we are back to spending. Now we need some starting pitching help and another 2B if Cano leaves

According to Joel Sherman the Yanks are close to signing Kelly Johnson who can play most of the infield. We can expect to see him a lot at 3B and 2B if Cano leaves

So much for that 189 Million idea. Now go get Choo, re-sign Cano, trade Brett Gardner and Gary Sanchez to San Diego for Chase Headley, get Marishino Tanaka and let's go to war.

yankees never said that. From what I'm reading they are not budging from their 7 yr/175 deal. If he finds a team who wants to pay him 200+ then he is gone

Cashman said he isn't signing cano for that amount or anything close to that. That means no Cano. We waste our money on a Avg player is ellsbury who really only had 1 really good season. Our OF gives us No power now. Gardner, Ellsbury, and Ichiro. Great defense bad offense.

Cano isn't needed. If he was so great he should have been able to lead us to the playoffs last yr. BTW in 2011 Jacoby had 32 HR/105 RBI and he hits for avg so he will always be around .300 with 50+ SB. Even if he doesn't give us the pop we have Soriano to give us the HR ball. Ichrio will not be playing everyday as he will probably be splitting time with Wells

If Cano wants to take 8/200 from Seattle he can do that.
