This actually makes me happy the Niners never built that stadium / mall in San Francisco because I'm a lot happier with it in Santa Clara.

Exciting news for the Niners and their fans. Hope they get to host the 2016 Super Bowl, 50th anniversary or golden anniversary. It would also be fitting if the 49ers made it to Super Bowl L. 49ers and "gold" go together!
If it opens in 2014 then Kawakami will owe a lunch at French Laundry to Barrows and Jed.
Orly? Convenient. How much you want to bet Jed had the bet and, more importantly, screwing Kawakami over on said bet, on his mind during a few of his meetings with the Santa Clara officials?
My understanding is that the league conditioned its support upon the fact that this would be a facility designed for two teams and that another team could be introduced as a co-tenant.
But I just think that would be the very last resort for the Raiders.
They could go across the Bay and make a deal with city of San Francisco possibly to play at Hunters Point. But I don’t know how that would work…
