This actually makes me happy the Niners never built that stadium / mall in San Francisco because I'm a lot happier with it in Santa Clara.

2020 Super Bowl in Santa Clara? Or maybe as soon as 2018?

Exciting news for the Niners and their fans. Hope they get to host the 2016 Super Bowl, 50th anniversary or golden anniversary. It would also be fitting if the 49ers made it to Super Bowl L. 49ers and "gold" go together!

2015 may be too early, but that would be the 49th anniversary. But I agree that Superbowl XLIX (49) would be better.

If it opens in 2014 then Kawakami will owe a lunch at French Laundry to Barrows and Jed.

Orly? Convenient. How much you want to bet Jed had the bet and, more importantly, screwing Kawakami over on said bet, on his mind during a few of his meetings with the Santa Clara officials?

Based on the terms he has with the construction companies you know he's already figured out what he is ordering. Barrows is already asking what wine pairs with European white truffels.

So the Cowboys got a SB in... what... the 2nd year of their stadium's existence?

2015 / 2016 SB in Santa Clara??? :)

By the way why does crappy freeking New Orleans get ANOTHER SB next year???!!! This is going to be the 10th time they get it. LAME!

'Zona's getting it soon as well. They just got one in 2008.

Why has Baltimore never gotten a SB? They have a great stadium.

Happy about the new stadium for sure. Not so happy about traveling from SF to Santa Clara and back for games unless the shuttles allow drinking on board and have a toilet on board.

My understanding is that the league conditioned its support upon the fact that this would be a facility designed for two teams and that another team could be introduced as a co-tenant.

But I just think that would be the very last resort for the Raiders.

They could go across the Bay and make a deal with city of San Francisco possibly to play at Hunters Point. But I don’t know how that would work…

Now that would be weird.
