cartyer avgd 17 offensive snaps per game dean
not at the beginning of the year dudeb/c of injury. dude are you serious?
dean you just cant admit i was right about carter . it doesnt matter about injuries , what does matter is that when called upon he could contribute on offense . if he couldnt he would have been cut and we would use johnson in that role
same thing comes into play here with erikson , he will have to have the ability to contribute on offense if called upon . now he may not be called upon but he will need to
carter showed that in preseason
Speaking of common sense...I meant they are not going to sign an Odell Beckham to challenge for a top WR spot. I did mention they could bring in a pr/kr who happens to play WR. Its common sense. You think we still need WR help which is false. Erickson only plays WR if there are multiple injuries at the current WR core.
and he will be replaced as soon as a guy can be found because he cant contribute on defenseYou are not right. Everyone knew Carter was brought here to be a returner. He showed that he was the best returner in camp so he earned a spot. Same thing with Erikson. If he wins the job on returns he will get a spot no matter what kind of WR he is. There are guys on teams just b/c of there special team ability not b/c of the position they play.
Perfect example is Apke. He is on the team b/c he is a good gunner not a good CB\S. They made a spot for him b/c of his special teams ability not position ability.
Let me add one other thing... WRs are now getting paid. Subtract this added expenditure to you cap and you're either going to have to pay these players or continue to draft equal or better talent just to keep up!maybe dean you should open your eyes to current trends in the NFL
trend one is versatility, you have to do multiple things you cant be just a blocker or a gunner or a returner
trend 2 is FB 's are being phased out ., why because the te/hb has taken over because they do multiple things
mlb is being phased out because classic mlbs cant cover todays te's and backs
wr's are at a higher premium and you cant carry wrs who cant produce in an offense
rbs have to do multiple things in the offense
exactly and guys like brown have to come in and produce and your returner cant just be a returner because of injuries and cap spaceLet me add one other thing... WRs are now getting paid. Subtract this added expenditure to you cap and you're either going to have to pay these players or continue to draft equal or better talent just to keep up!

So, if a player like D. Hopkins got released, absolutely wanted to come here, and Washington absolutely loved the idea of signing him, YOU, are of the mindset that such an upgrade isn't necessary???? Wow I would love to see any stats or other information/ evidence that has you believing that the Commanders WR core is the best in the league, Hell, I'd settle for top 15!!
However, to be fair to you... why exactly do you keep insisting that Washington doesn't need WR help?? ((meaning upgrades)
everrette played in our defense and again the trend in the NFL is being able to contribute on defense or offense and not solely be a specialistNonsense. I just proved my point they kept Apke on the team b/c of his ST ability for years. Same thing with Everett, he was kept on this team b/c of his ST ability for years. Not b/c they were contributing at their positions.
you arent walking away from a hopkins or OBJStupid example. We dont need more WR help. You wont see big time WR;s in Fa come here right now, b/c we dont need the help. The team disagrees with you on needed a QB and WR like you always proclaimed. You are a hater. Just admit it. Anything this team does you will take the negative apprach.

i disagree , they were kept for special teams AND their ability to contribute on defense or offenseThey were both kept on the team b/c of the ST ability not positions. I dont care what the trend it. This is what happened to both these players.
no you wouldnt because every time we get a player to you he is the next comingYes they are b/c of money, suspension and OBj is a headcase.
i disagree , they were kept for special teams AND their ability to contribute on defense or offense
they moved apke to CB . and no i am not telling you he made the team as solely as a wr . so put aside your absolutism aside and try to understand simple things .Mainly there special teams ability. They are not confident at all in Apke at Safety. You are trying to tell me that Carter made the team as a WR not as returner. That is bs. He made the team as a returner who can play WR b/c of injury which exactly happened. Carter wasnt brought in to be a WR for this team. He was an emergency WR. Teams in the draft, draft guys in the late rounds just to be special teams guys. Not b/c of there position status. You never heard that? They didn't make the team b/c they were good at their positions, they made the team b/c they excel on Special Teams.
