yep. franchise tag would look real good right about now

I understand them panicking and not franchising him. What I don't understand is them paying him basically the most, what they would have to pay him if he came and played really well and won the Super Bowl or something. The only thing different in what they gave him and what they would've had to give him if he won, was basically a lower guaranteed. Maybe there was a few million to be gained more than that by winning, but it seemed like they quickly gave him a big contract when they didn't have to and they gave him the contract that he would've gotten if he won.
