I've seen some pretty ingenious names pop up over the last 10 or so hours for the Ballpark.

There are reports the Rangers have been in touch with major Korean companies for the naming rights...

Sooo IMO, that means Samsung, Kia or Hyundai.
And with the "Kia K-Zone" last year... my bet is on Kia. Kia Park? Kia Field?

That said, here are some of the funny ones I've stumbled across.

"The Angels Have Too Many Good Players Jon Heyman Memorial Stadium #NewBallParkNames"
"Michael Young Leadership Park in Arlington. #NewBallparkNames"
"#NewBallparkName Biogenesis Ballpark"
"Chan Ho Park"

and the best one...
"I just became a fan in 2010 and am stubbornly resistant to change of a roster because I haven't experienced it ballpark. #NewBallparkNames"

And a few others that I've found...
"Verizon Field" (since AT&T Stadium is right next door)
"Gloops Ballpark in Arlington"
"Whataburger Park"

What do you hope it will be called? Personally, it'll always be The Temple, The Ballpark, Rangers Ballpark, etc to me.

How about Canes Ballpark in Arlington so after a win Busby or Grieve has to say "winner, winner, chicken dinner".

So I wonder what the name is actually going to be.

Not exactly what I would've preferred but it could've been worse. At least "Park In Arlington" is still part of the name.

ehhhhhhhhhh.

ehhhhhh indeed. I haven't even heard of Globe Life before… I didn't even know insurance companies without some sort of animal spokes person existed. Any word yet on how much money they sold the naming rights for?

Not yet. On the high end, the Mets are getting $ 20 mil per year from Citi Bank. The average amount is somewhere around $ 1.5 - $ 3 mil per year.

If I had a vote in the process, I would have a difficult time deciding between:

Chan Ho Park

and

Whataburger Park

No exact financial terms of the naming rights deal yet, but according to Ron Januszewski (Rangers Executive VP), the deal will be one of the highest ever for naming rights. He said it puts them "top-2 in baseball" as far as naming revenue.

So less than 20 million per... I would think it would be between 15-20million. IMO.

I think I read we got $25M/per year for a 3 year deal with Ameriquest… so hopefully it won't be any less than that, otherwise IMO that would be somewhat disappointing given how the economy has changed since. I think I read somewhere it was for 10 years, so if it is any less than $250M I would be a little disappointed.

Nevermind, disregard that last comment. Evidently that was a 30 year $75M deal that got canceled 3 years in due to Ameriquest's finical troubles. So I completely set myself up for utter disappointment. The Cowboys stadium deal isn't even worth $25M/year. It between 17-19M/year.
