Hi, I'm a Rangers fan from birth. Have seen more Rangers games in their old stadium than the new one.....and that's a lot.

I like fried and smoked meats, walks on the beach, puppies, fishing and hunting, a freshly cleaned vagina and sportsbooks in Vegas.

Glen

Sounds good except for that god awful orange thing under your avy.

Easy friend. There is plenty of Texas for us to share and enjoy. My closest and dearest friend went to A&M when we got out of high school some 20 years ago. And I forgave him.

Brewers fan despite being a dual Cubs and White Sox fan growing up. Roommate in college turn me onto the Brew Crew attending Wisky.

At the old County Stadium the same place where Hank Aaron in 1957 made the Yankees owner eat his words on his disrespectful comment on the Braves. But the Yankees would win the rematch in 58 in 7 games.

They moved the tribute exhibit from County Stadium to Miller Park for that Braves team.

Thanks for the introduction. :suds: But I'm confused by the last two paragraphs.

 I'm Edisto and I have a drinking problem. Oh, wait, wrong meeting. I mean, I'm a Braves fan. Sort of .... I grew up pulling for the Braves and loved keeping up with them until my mid 20's. Then, I don't know what happened but The Braves took a backseat to everything else and I lost touch. Now I'm trying to get back into it, but finding it a tougher row to hoe than expected. Anyway, I'm here.

Pyrat fan since Roberto Clemente reigned me in from the darkside of Shea Stadium somewhere as a Mets fan. All the way thru lil' league I played as a young Met with that teams affiliation. I retired with a hitting % of .425 and played as an allstar catcher for my team. My jersy numbers were both #21 and #17. I broke fingers, had my nuts "snapped" to many times to count and at age 14 was forced into early retirement due to a severe left knee injury. I never again got to play the game I love the most in this country. I have more enemies than friends and plan on keeping it that way. I have coached other kids in the game and find enjoyment in that, but not the time. I love handicapping the game and placing a few "well-educated" wagers from time to time. I think most people haven't a fucking clue what baseball is all about or how the game should be played on any given day/night. I love pitching more than hitting. I love catchers more than any other players. I have a tremendous amount of respect managers and their skill set. I hate umpires, except for a few ol' timers. I love the high-n-in pitch as it sets a tone for any player in a batters box. My favorite play in baseball is the strike em out-throw em out double play. I will always fell sorry for Bill Buckner, I believe Pete rose should be in the HOF. I will never forget how R Clemente played the game and lived life. My favoite AL team is the Oaktown A's.

That's about all I have to say about that.

If you are looking for old CBS'ers, most can be found on the daily thread here. The rest of us are pretty well spread out around here already, making us a bit harder to find.

Well, I can't say I agree with all you said, but I sure liked it. Roberto Clemente was a once in a lifetime five tool player.

Have you ever seen "Chasing 3,000"? It is a true story about a young man that travels across the country with his seriously ill little brother to try to catch "The Great One"'s 3000th hit.

Nice having you on the site from an old CBS'er that gets on here when he can!

Funny thing about that movie. Though it is a true story, there is some beliveability issues for me, as it seemed rather improbable. Still, pretty good.

As a fairly new poster here I have to say you will like it....................couple of things: DO NOT use multiple ID's; your ass will be history. They don't fuck around with that shit at all. Oh yeah, you can curse. All you want. Just don't try to say the "P" word (pron). DO NOT troll the team threads and talk shit; that will get you banned quick. I'm so glad CBS pulled the switch as things are way better here. Oh yeah, magical shit happens at 50 posts (maybe HD will change it to 40 though)........and whatever you do, DO NOT sign your name at the end of a post or you will be ridiculed until you stop (only took me about 2 days of humiliation).:suds:
