Sounds like a good idea but it's not. Astro-turf would work, but field-turf is full of ground up tires. It's what makes it like carpet and why you see black sand looking shit fly when players make cuts.

BTW..The new turf will use ground up cork instead of tires because the black tires were absorbing too much heat.

You might wanna try hanging a piece over a clothes-line and beating the hell out of it with a broomstick to see if you can get the majority of it out.
