I recently had lunch with a top coordinator from another conference and asked what he wants in his first head-coaching job. His answer: a place with unrealistic expectations.

man, i really want to know who SE has in mind. I'm leaning towards Patterson right now, just because he's the biggest name I can think of with the ability to get more out of his players.

Don't wish to rain on anyone's parade but the buyout is now a problem. Foley thought he could negotiate it but as of last night Nebraska has come in and said "not so fast." Foley not so happy. The CSU President has the discretion in the deal to make the call, but looks like now instead of negotiating down, he is playing UF against Nebraska and perhaps Michigan as well.

If Foley really wants him, he can get him, but it is costing more than he wished. Not a done deal at all and if the pictures of Foley taken at the meeting are any indication, Foley is NOT happy.
