Is Nebraska honestly the worst ball school in the country?

Probably not...........

But we are playing in the best conference in the country.........which means bad things for thee Huskerz.

It's a process. These kids are good basketball players. They need to play their assignments and execute. It's all a process.

From the way I understand it, Tom Osborne hired Miles because Miles' track record with improving teams year-by-year has been pretty amazing.

At Colorado State he took over one of the worst programs in the country and this is how his seasons went:

1st year: 7 wins
2nd year: 9 wins
3rd year: 16 wins + CBI Tourney
4th year: 19 wins + NIT Tourney
5th year: 20 wins + NCAA Tourney

Ultimately, I believe Tom Osborne's vision was that Miles' success at Nebraska would be much like his success was at Colorado State.

We may have to wait 3-4 years before anything crazy happens.......but it should be fun to see his team improve over the years.

I figure it'll be the 2014-2015 season before NU becomes enough of a bubble team to rip our hearts out.

I understand the want to improve part, next year we'll have the same players right? Or do we have a huge recruiting class coming in? I treat this reasoning the same as I do looking at the Foosball team

Tonight is a big game to measure kinda how his first season is gonna go....

Unlike what Smart was saying last night, Valpo IS comparable to the bottom half of the BIG.

They should win their Conference this season, and they return 5 Senior Starters..........yes, all 5 of their starters are Seniors, and yes they all started last year.

We have 3 really good recruits coming in to be honest. All three are better than anything Doc was able to get in his time here.

The one kid Miles grabbed from overseas was the star player for New Zealand in the Olympics. He is gonna be really really good.

I know Miles redshirted at least one guy who probably would have played a lot this year.

Maybe JJM can chime in but Miles seems to be getting by this season with an eye toward the future.

Tai Webster is the name of the New Zealand kid.

I was watching ESPNU's preseason College Basketball show and the guys on that show thought Tai would likely be a 4-star pushing 5-star status if he played basketball here in the US in High School.

The kid is no joke.

Which is the right thing to do. Miles needs to install a new system and build depth in that system. He's basically starting from scratch. He's got at least 2 years before anyone with a reasonable thought has any expectations for Nebrasketball.

Miles needs to understand though that if he has the opportunity to get free Runza's for the peeps, he needs to come thru.
