Simple question: does it work?

Big Ten football and Big 12 football are just different. We don't play the option game or the wishbone. We don't play basketball on turf like Oklahoma State, Texas Tech or Missouri. You saw what happened when RichRod brought the spread offense to Michigan.

At the very least Nebraska needs to revamp their defense to face the Power I, but do the Huskers need to move away from the option game as well?

The option was working alright for them against us for awhile. We went to stuff it, and then they went to the pass. The strategy worked perfectly except for one thing: Taylor Martinez can't throw the ball well. There were two plays where he threw the ball to receivers that were wide open had an easy route for the TD. One went over his head. On the other, he threw it behind the receiver and it wound up being a 15 yard or so gain. About 25 minutes into the game, we basically committed all our resources to the run and dared Martinez to beat us with the pass (a tool people used against Tolzien last season and Russell at the start of this season). The problem isn't the option. The problem is that they don't have a quarterback who can scare linebackers out of defending the option every play.

Our QB goes bat shit crazy when the play called has more than oh about 1 option of what to do with the football, besides gut run up the middle. It's more to do with offensive personnel than what conf your up against. It takes years to develop. In our case, more than 1 camp

Doesn't help that I have shot turds outta my ass more accurately than our QB does footballs with his arm.
