NU has to follow the fluff trends of the 2nd and 3rd tier programs for attention.

The class Nebraska signed this past February was ranked....

Nebraska is right where they should be based upon the last 4 years of recruiting rankings. One win out of the Top 15 - 20

ie..Somewhere between 20 - 30 in the final polls.

trust me i'm well aware of the relationship. I've done a hell of a lot of research on this very subject.

There's no way we are going to sign top 10 recruiting classes without winning some conference titles and BCS games.

we came within a total of 4 points of winning back to back conference titles and going to back to back bcs bowl games.

That's just unlucky. That's a bounce of the ball or a tick of the clock.

If we won those two we would be doing a hell of a lot better in the recruiting rankings.

The days of winning big games with ease are over right now. We're gonna have to scrap for a title and some things are gonna finally have to go our way.

So when I hear someone say we are doomed to repeat the last 4 years forgive me if I get a bit defensive. You're basically saying we have no shot at anything ever. Well call the season off then. Shut down the football program because if we're not gonna win anything of significance what is the point.

Nebraska's avg through these years is 24.4

The numbers speak for themselves. The odds are and have been HUGELY stacked against us winning a national title.

This years team class avg is 24. Right on par with where we've been.

Haven't hinted at any of that. Matter of fact I said NU was one win separating them from top 15-20 and top 20-30.

Just keeping expectations real.

Wisconsin, Michigan, and South Carolina weren't the bounce of one ball. NU got whipped. I don't want to hear about it being close at half-time. There are 4 quarters of football and when one is being outplayed/out muscled, they are bound to start making mistakes.

I can remember many teams hanging with Nebraska in the first half thru the 70's, 80's, 90's. NU pulled away to large spreads in the 2nd half because they outplayed and out muscled the opponent.

Nebraska was arguably one Ohio St loss from being 8-5 last season. Arguably because the loss would have likely changed the bowl and opponent.

Nebraska was getting beat pretty good when Braxton Miller went down and tOSU couldn't score anymore, allowing the NU's largest comeback in school history.

Ohio State (3-3, 0-2 Big Ten) built a 27-6 lead behind freshman quarterback Braxton Miller, who sprained his right ankle in the third quarter and did not return. The Buckeyes' offense went dormant with backup Joe Bauserman.

Good thing they were at home.

They need to get over that hump.

When I was growing up we watched the Huskers and cheered for them because they were our team. We didn't care about recruiting class rankings. We didn't make excuses for losses. We clapped for the other guys for beating us.
Some of you bitch about getting away from tradition with the different uni's, but forget just how far you all have moved away from the NU fan tradition.

Like NU football can't fall back on 5 MNC's to boast about their greatness, the fans can't rely on history to remain the "Best college football fans in America." You gotta step up, quit whining, stop pissing and moaning over simple shit and support the boys.
