Seriously though, I remember every single play of Tommie's career.

I was a little obsessed. Got his autograph a handful of times :dhd:

I remember when we lost the Orange Bowl to Florida State in Tommie's Freshman season and while walking off the field at the end they put the camera right in his face and he swatted it out of the way.

That shit is burned into my memory. I can still picture it now. Hell I was only 6 years old

I was 9 years old.

Imagine being a 9 year old at that time. What a way to grow up as a yute

LMFAO

Look at my post made at the same time.

You didn't even understand the game then. I have a boy that just turned 9. I know...

No offense to your boy, but I was a freak at that age RA....

I wasn't your normal 9 year old. I am not shitting you. I have uncles who are huge Husker fans, and they would come visit me just to talk Nebraska football. It's the reason I am the way I am today.

Like I said, they thought I had autism.....

Maybe I do :noidea:

When I was at the age of 9, nothing else mattered to me.

My friends wanted to build go-carts and tree houses......I wanted to watch Nebraska Football. Every single day of the year I was like that en sech

JJM. you were 5 when Tommie was a freshman.

When McBride changed from a Big 8 stop the run defense to a national stop the run first and everything else defense. Even that was wayyyy after Nebraska got rolling.

In the early 70's we'd listen to Lyle Bremser Husker games on the AM radio whether we were down at the fishing hole or playing sandlot with the neighbor kids in the snow. If they were on TV it was a real treat.

The Huskers were great for 30 years of my life compared to about 6 of yourn.

I was 6 sir......but that is besides the point.

I know what you're saying. I haven't seen nearly the glory days that ye all have, but I did see the absolute height of the program.

The only problem with me being as young as I was is that I was convinced that Nebraska would be that way forever :(

You guys remember the Coca Cola Classic game that we played in Tokyo, Japan that 1992 season???

I do. That shit was on late at night and my parents thought I was sleeping....

They was wrong. I had my mini boom box right next to my head and a set of brand new batteries in that sumbitch. We won 38-24 and Tommie was the shit

Yes. You saw the peak. I'll give you that.

Hell, in my mid 30's I thought it'd be that way forever. Us older folk got spoiled on elite football.

The Huskers lost games here and there, but they were slobber-knockers.

79 - 80 and 90-91 were hard times, kinda like now, but T.O. made changes both times. Bo needs to make those changes yesterday if there's still time.
