All the linemen will redshirt... Knevel is talented but not nearly physically or mentally ready to play. It will take him at least two years. Johnson will be a Guard or Center, most likely Guard... of all our freshmen linemen Hannon is the most ready to play.

Excellent, thanks for the insight. I had never even heard mention of Johnson as a possible Center. I thought Centers were generally your shortest, squat OLs....

Whew.... I thought for a moment that you had been denied one of American cinema's greatest classics.

Maybe he has a Sumo quality to him we are unaware of. *crosses fingers*

Not necessarily. In Tim Beck's offense the Center and Guard positions have to be athletic, especially Center. Center needs to be your most athletic and most intelligent lineman. He needs to call out protection schemes and have the ability to long snap and pull on any given play. Johnson has that. Paul Thurston does too.

Thurston gonna get some PT this season??

Maybe... He's behind Pensick and Mark Pelini at Center though... if Pensick moves over to Guard for whatever reason then Thurston would be on the two deep behind Pelini. I would guess that Thurston would be the starting Center in 2014 though.

I see us getting Darlington from fla huskerpedia had an article on him and his dad and unless some sec schools come in he seems like a good lock for neb. Gonna be interesting qb wise after tmart leaves. TA seems ready, Johnny looks good for a red shirt or back up depending how how fall goes.which means future qb are gonna have to either wow the staff or wait their turn....

Will Ulmer pulled a surprise and committed to Maryland today... looks like Nebraska is all in on Harris or Darlington.

If Pensick moves over to Guard and Mark Pelini starts at Center, thurston would be the back up, so he could see some time in mop up duty.

Nebraska added another offensive line offer (though I think he fancies himself a DE) in Wyoming this past week. As well as one in Minnesota:

The first is Taven Bryan... he's 6'6" 250 lbs... I like him as a RT but he wants a shot at defense. Oregon, Washington and Wyoming are his primary suitors. He's the type of kid that would be a 4-star if he lived in Ohio or Texas. I would love to get him, just hope he sticks to where he projects best and that's OL.

Second is OG Frank Ragnow (could also play tackle) from Minnesota. He's a high three star but his stock will only rise IMO. Florida State, Missouri, Pitt, Wisconsin and USF have all offered.

Lost another target today... this one hurts as we never even got him on campus. Christian McCaffrey, my #1 running back target, committed to Stanford. Nebraska's coaches are way behind on the recruiting trail right now. Very disappointing to see.
