Can anyone explain why the patriots didn’t tell vrabel?

If they had the dude would still be employed

Although he will almost certainly end up at a better run franchise anyway, so maybe it doesn’t matter

lol...so would the chargers.

lol
Thatd be a good fit, tbh. Not sure I get the joke.

(Eagles are funny, imo, because the AJ Brown trade is when everything fell apart for the Titans)

While the Chargers would appear to be a great opportunity, with an apparent young franchise QB, the ownership situation there is so bad that I think good candidates would go to Atlanta, Philly if it becomes open, or other places before the second-string LA team.

Eagles would be pretty funny at this juncture

It would be great!

Vrabel and AJ have no beef that I know of. Vrabel famously fumed after his stupid-ass GM traded AJ Brown.

Chargers are in cap hell

I think I’d take atl over the chargers for that reason

But Dallas is the one I’d watch for

well sure..the media rings that bell

I mean he’s 72. A rebuild seems less likely than a gut job

But you never knows

Plus jerry seems the most likely to fire his hc lol

well..sure
again, this is media driven. I could be wrong, but Jerry keeps talking about Dak's play this year. The focus on putting Lamb all over the field taking advantages of mismatches. This week, Jerry could be heard proping up three in a row 12 win season.

I know we are talking about Jerry here, I guess we can believe what others are saying. I just think this narrative is wrong.

No that’s all fair

How many coaches in the playoffs this weekend are more likely to get fired than McCarthy?

I’m curious on who you think.

It was a good 20+ years. Thanks Bill for all you did with teams. It’s time for change, looking forward to see what they can do with Mayo as HC and other key moves coming up.

Sometimes it's just time. Seems like there was no hard feelings from BB, he'll start fresh with a new team.

Yes, I think he has some gas in the tank still. Was great building Defenses. It was time for change in NE. Best of luck to him.

Kirk Ferentz, other future coaching stars also on that Browns coaching staff, which was absolutely loaded.

On the topic, you have to wonder if the Pats regretted putting in Mayo's contract that he would succeed BB, after the Titans unexpectedly put Mike Vrabel back on the market. That scenario was probably inconceivable to Kraft and the Patriots not too long ago.
