Well it was a tough game for us Irish Fans. Back to back weeks we lost a main starter on offense. MZ out for year. Last year was the D injuries and this year its the offense turn. Folston and MZ done for year. In comes CJ(who looked awesome) amd Kizer(a lot will be on his plate).

Big game for the Irish. This is a true test for this team. GT is very good on D. Can Kizer lead us. I think our D and Run game will have to lead us in this game for us to win.

not really because its still on offense. That was a good question. I do see your point. When I mean special teams TD I mean Kick return or punt return.

What does everyone else think? I have no problem changing it. I just consider fake FG still being on offense.

Alright alright. It pains me to say it, but it was a special team's play. And it was a TD, so I would have to say that I would consider it a special team's touchdown. A fake punt for a TD would also qualify.

ok so It looks like I will change it. I will try and fix the standings tomorrow unless more people say no. Right now its 2-1 saying it should count. I understand it and was on the fence. Only reason was because in a way its still an offensive down, 4th down. Thanks for input. As of right now I will change it unless more people say no.

Yea it's fine with me with what the majority is. It's only one point so that really doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, I think for the most part I was/am looking for clarification so that we're all on the same page.

But for the sake of argument and definition, I argue it's a special teams play but what's more is the wording is somewhat vague: Will there be any Special teams TD, Safety, Defensive TD or onside kick? One could interpret that as an inclusion of a special teams TD (say punt return or kick return), a safety, which could occur on an offensive play or a special teams play, or a defensive play and a defensive TD (which isn't special teams) and of course, the onside kick which obviously belongs with Special Teams play. Or, one could interpret it as Special Teams TD (meaning punt return, kick return) but also qualifying or clarifying other results of a special teams play, such as the safety or onside kick.

The reason I argue it's a special teams play is because you wouldn't say on a kickoff that it's the offense out there, nor would you say on a punt or kick return that the defense is out there. When the kicker's on the field, it should inherently be described as a special teams play because those personnel aren't on the field as part of the offense. A return play is a little more vague in terms of a pure definition of 'defense' or special teams.

All good though, we can wait until everyone weighs in, no hurry, just want to be on the same page as everyone else.
