Yeah, I mean who doesn't love a sport where 99% of the games are meaningless, and 9 out of 10 are blowouts?

Who doesn't love a sport that creates exhibition games, calls them bowls, and tell people they actually mean something so they can capitalize off of the amateur athletes for another quick easy buck?

Who doesn't love a sport where the biggest and best schools have the biggest budget, and ALWAYS get the best players. In turn, pretty much in a constant rotation of winning titles?

Who doesn't love GOD AWFUL defense and special teams play?

An absolute BORE, college football is.

The college game is so much better because the players care so much more. The fans care so much more. Each game means so much more. The college game has more variation in offenses and defenses as well. College football is by far better than the NFL. My thoughts on it.

I don't know if I would say they care so much more (players) as NFL players football is there life. They sacrifice time with family and friends to spend months upon months working from sun up to sun down in hopes of winning a Superbowl. I hear stories of guys like Peyton Manning spending countless hours watching just a few plays over and over until he has every little detail completely memorized. Coaches sometimes just have beds in their office so they don't have to go home and waste precious minutes missing game film or whatever.

These guys yes might be playing for money but they are playing for themselves, their families, their cities, and everything else it seems like. In the NFL it is so hard to make a team these days that these guys are willing to play through just about any injury possible as to not be cut. These guys sacrifice future health for present glory.

Also about the fans...Hmmm I don't recall the college game that has bigger stadiums holding the all-time record for loudest stadiums...Seems like over the years it has been the Broncos, Chiefs, and now Seahawks. That is with less fans in the stadium. To say the fans are not as devoted just look at the popularity of the NFL where even a delayed lightning storm broadcast is the 2nd most popular thing on tv when it is about the NFL.

I will agree that every game matters a little more but considering in an 11 game season the top teams in the Nation will play 7 or more games against inferior opponents so really it just comes down to a handful of games to decide the whole season. Most can tune out until that time where in the NFL on any given week a team could win and the top teams of 5 years ago are not so much the top teams of today. I like the idea that I have no clue who is going to win the Superbowl and that it in reality could be about 10 different teams out of 32. Where college football it still might be 10 teams but that is out of hundreds.

it's easier to keep up with players in the pro game to me anyway and i agree the player are much better and that's why i use to like the pro game better, but the rules have just changed the game so much that's it's not as fun to watch. Just my opinion.

At the end of the day...that's what really matters, not which one is better. There are diehard fans on both sides...I went to a Gwinnett Braves (triple A team, and had just as much fun as if I were at the ATL Braves game.

Loudest? Well that is just acoustics. And let's be honest. Pro players play for themselves. They don't give a shit about a city or their fans. Why? Because they will be down the road in a couple of years chasing a bigger paycheck. And they don't care about the logo on their helmet. Yes they care about teammates and coaches, etc. but they don't care about the logo. In college, a Husker, a Buckeye, a Wolverine, a Bruin, well, you are one for life. Very few pros are any (insert NFL mascot here) for life...

To say they don't care is just ridiculous. Many of these guys do a ton of work behind the scenes for whatever city they are in. Heck on the Broncos alone I know of quite a few different players that have started their own charities or work with local charities to help out in anyway possible.

Then when it comes to the money...Many of these guys are playing to raise money for their families, communities they grew up in, and even helping out many friends. The wellbeing of many of those around them depend upon these guys whether it is called for or not. Many of these guys came from nothing so they appreciate the opportunity to help those who helped them get where they are. Yes there are some in the league that could care less about those around them, the community, or even their own team. Same can be said about college football though. The face of college football in Johny Football Manziel has said he can't wait to leave Texas A&M. He has used his fame like no college player before him. Now obviously that is not every college player just like not all NFL players are in it for the money and nothing else. Believe me I went to K-State and spent some time with some of the football players there. They could care less whether they were playing at K-State. All they cared about was the fact that it was a nationally known university so it gave them more of a chance to get noticed for the NFL. Now I know not all college players are this way but there is a big majority that do feel this way.

So Acoustics in an NFL stadium that is wide open like the Broncos or Chiefs stadium completely make up for the difference in 30,000 fans? Yeah now you are just talking out your butt.

I don't mind college football and I understand there are some amazing fans of college football just like there are for the NFL. It seriously boils down to personal preference. This is an NFL board so you have to expect most of us are going to be bigger NFL fans than college.

I would love to see the link that shows Sports Authority Field is louder than the Big House or the Shoe. And as far as community service, that is all PR. So is the charities. They are selling the brand. And that brand is themselves.

Don't get me wrong. I like pro ball. I just like college more...

It is not all PR cause I can guarantee not all of it actually makes the news. I know of plenty of people in the Denver area that have been helped by fans yet there were no cameras around. A lot of these guys actually do care about those around them. College football does not own that right. Not all these guys are ass holes.

Just go look it up in the Guinness book of Records and you will see the Broncos once owned the record for loudest stadium in the world. It was then beat by Kansas City who was then beat by a soccer team in Istanbul to then have that beat this year by Seattle.

Here is a link to an article on it...
