They would be stupid to quit running them, run a normal qb sneak though.
Why? Why would they ever? If they only need the shover once every 4th or 5th play it would be stupid not to employ said shover. It moves sticks and keeps drives alive.

Injury and injury risk are two different things, correct?
One is assessed based on the frequency of the other.
Is this too difficult a question? We're talking about a relatively rare play. The first injury they recognize as a result of this play will instantly he statistically important, percentage wise.
It won’t be statistically important because this play has been run by many different teams over the past three seasons about 200+ times. One instance of injury would move the needle about a half percentage point.

How about this:

We ban the play on the condition that every franchise that votes against has their coach or GM call a press conference to say -

“We voted to ban the play because we can’t stop the play.”

By the way, I don't care if your Eagles need daily affirmation to feel good about themselves. If that's what it takes to get it out of the game, give the Eagles their Stewart Smalley award.

They call it a Vince Lombardi award and it will never reside in Buffalo

agree...like the rule. Make it 15 minutes.

If you keep it at 10 then let’s go to sudden death after the 10 min if the game is tied. Having ties is so gay. It’s the only professional sport still with ties even nhl got rid of it years ago

The Eagles scored 145 points in 4 playoff games. It’s a play they’ll use 4-5 times a game tops and often 1-2 times. It’s only being targeted because they’ve perfected the play. Ironically, the Eagles will still be the best sneak team in the league when it gets banned (and it will get banned; that’s why they tabled the vote. They will bang this drum until Jerry Jones, and the Maras, and the Packers get their way.) because they have a QB who squats 600 pounds, the biggest OL to have ever started a Super Bowl, and a guru offensive line coach who coaches the leverage of this play better than anyone.
Exactly, no need for gimmicks that used to be illegal and will be again, just dominate without the gimmick as your 600 LB squatter and OL can

They will say safety concerns as reason to not allow ties......but very least go back to 15 minute OTs.

If they don’t change the ot to 10 minutes then we will separate the men from the cowards. Are you going for 2 to win it or kicking the xp and playing for a likely tie if you get the ball 2nd

Injury isn't even why I want the play gone. It didn't exist before and is a mockery of the game as I know it IMO. Why should the offense get the benefit of the doubt with forward progress if the defense doesn't get credit for stopping the ball carrier (only to have offensive linemen push him forward)? If you can push the ball carrier forward, the defense should be able to move the line gained back by continuing to push the ball carrier backwards.
Saw one idea...why doesn't the defense do the same thing? When the shove is coming, have the linebackers shove the DL?

Is the ball marked as far back as the defense can push it?
That's a really good point and surprised never heard anyone make it. Can push a guy forward 20 yards and he might get entire distance. Push him back 20? Forward progress is used.

It's marked wherever it ends up after both sides push, like any other running play, not sure what you are asking

I think they should ban it just heard this idea as a way for defenses to counter it
