Indiana was the weakest team in the field and that game stunk the joint out. Since its first and the only game of the day, everyone is gonna talk about how shitty they are and what a poor job the committee did. If they made that game the Noon game tomorrow or sandwiched it in the afternoon, it wouldn't get near the attention.

Makes sense but they only thought about ratings. ND as a stand alone prime time game going to bring in the ratings and they also wanted the best game on saturday night prime time ( tenn vs ohio state) meaning they would have needed to swap out this game with one of the other 2 which also leads to ND going up against 2 damn good NFL games in the afternoon slot tomorrow

Regular season hockey and basketball are very meh.

That is 1 of the above leagues with high stakes games.

OK...but it's first time ever with 3 CFP games AND there are a couple NFL games (to go with the full slate of NBA), as well.

Doubt many put any of those 4 over CFP playoffs and NFL GAMES (not that the draft is not more exciting than baseball or golf to many, including me).

Well I think most thought the ACC was trash so it isn’t surprising, they have been trash for years. Clemson was saving them most years from being utter garbage

Hopefully Indiana more than SMU

Going to be more than 2 teams they will focus on when it’s all said and done. Penn St getting a cakewalk schedule is going to give them a pass too. I have less of an issue with them. It’s Indiana and SMU. We will see what Boise St offers. Clemson going to be on the radar too.
Conference champions getting an automatic bid is whatever, still not great, and the bye is stupid too

I can’t even remember the exact teams involved or when this conversation happened.

But people were complaining about an SEC team jumping an ACC team for the final spot in the playoff when the SEC team blew out a bad team and the ACC team was idle.

The reason is that the ACC team should have never been in front of them to begin with. Showing why now.
