for whatever reason people latched onto her specifically. My guess is her being from a BIG school was helpful in that it brought different people into the sport than someone from UCONN would.

She plays like Steph Curry. It's not that hard to figure out. She stayed in college during a time where the women's game is really growing so more people started seeing it. Sabrina Ionescu can shoot it as well, but she wasn't pulling up from the logos. People just like watching that kind of stuff.

Both are right and wrong. WNBA is up in popularity for the other rookies and other women in general the last few years. The game is growing. But Clark's games are also higher than Reese or Brink or whoever (while they're still driving interest too).

Part of why you are having a hard time figuring it out is because your evaluation of her is wrong.

She was hands down the best player in college last year. That Iowa team doesn’t make the tournament without Clark. With her they are in the Final.

Swap Clark and Buechers, Iowa gets worse and UConn gets better.

She is electric to watch.

I am not saying her success will have the same impact on winning in the WNBA as it did in college, but she was a truly special college player. 1 of a kind.
