Yep once you’re not seeded, you can literally play any of the 32 seeds in round 1 as the draw is random so could have even been him vs Djokovic

Well I guess the good thing about that is one win can get you a bunch of quality matchups by stealing that seed. Zverev is looking pretty good at the moment though.

Not who you want to face in round 1. If you are playing a top seeded player round 1 then got to hope it isn’t someone who is good on clay. Medvedev would have been a much better opening match even though he is a higher seed because he struggles on the clay
