I may be in the minority but I'd prefer a Philly win.

The D Backs have overachieved these playoffs and it is great but I'm just not a big fan of a team this mediocre over 162 games being in the WS. They will have earned it based on their playoffs but that's just me.

I would rather see a team that spends little money knock off a team that tries to buy wins with this stupid unlimited crap. It’s difficult to win when you are a lower market team and your owner won’t spend. So to see a team like the Rays or DBacks knock off these big market teams is great for the sport.

I guess I don't see it that way

it just encourages the spenders to spend more and the small market teams to how they catch lightning every once in awhile

To be fair, they aren't that bad. They were on a 96 win pace at the halfway mark. Just had a rough rough stretch for about a month after the AS break

Yeah well that can be in any sport. Like a 8 seed beats a 1 seed in the NBA playoffs. It’s who gets hot. I don’t see any issue with it.

Baseball just makes it more likely for big spenders to dominate the sport. Refreshing to see the DBacks move on imo

This ain't 3-0 bad but it is still bad

Dominant first 2 games with trash going for Zona in Games 3 and 4.

Losing game 4 after being up 5-2 was absolutely crushing then to have one of your best on the mound in G6 and for him to not get the job done then to lose G7 at home as well is just crushing

obviously there's no issue persay it's just what I'd prefer seeing. Rangers D Backs is less compelling than Rangers Phillies.

Baseball needs compelling

2 Wildcard teams in the World Series

2 teams that wouldn't have made it back in the old days where only 1 WC team made the playoffs

That’s my generation’s ‘64 Phillies collapse. My dad still talks about it. Google it. This has to be up there with one of the biggest Philly sports collapses in my lifetime. The sad part is that I need to let it sit for me to really place it on the pain level. The worst part is that I have like 18-20 legitimate candidates for the top 10 list.

This one starts in Game 4 for me when Topper goes to Sanchez with one out and runner on 2nd in the 3rd down 1-0. He projects panic when it didn’t need to be. All year they can hit with so many outs left to play. He put that shit out into the world haha.

When he creates a bull pen game he guarantees that you’re going to have to use Kimbrel the day after he got beat up. He was leaking oil since the All Star break. His pen wasn’t as deep as he thought it was.

But the Phillies are built to hit. They’ve been a streaky team with lengthy slides and lengthy moments of being hot. I’ve said too much without giving credit to the Diamondbacks. They were great. They used the over aggression of Phillies big hitters against them. They changed their whole approach to the lineup in Game 3. Tip of the cap to them. They have bullpen and timely hitting. Their starters can be nasty as well though the Phillies went 3-1 vs their top guys. I’m back. The Phils lost this series while going 3-1 in Gallen/Kelly starts. Everybody deals with their team’s falling short. How often do you have to swallow something like that. They have no starters depth and they win all 3 of those games!!!

@DJ hope you know I was just messing with ya today. This is on the guys who are paid millions puckering in a big spot. I’m in the moment but this is baseball where you fail 7 of 10 times they remember you forever. This team has come through a ton of the last two seasons and this time they didn’t. They got a little complacent and like a Greek tragedy the hubris had to cut a bitch.

Don't get how you let Suarez face Corbin for a 3rd time

2-2 game now
With a base open. Topper is a vibes guy and that’s valuable for a team like the Phillies but I’ve seen all year, and you guys have seen in earlier series, that he can make some questionable decisions. A lot of times he’s gotten away with them because guys have nutted up and made him right. Not in this series though.

Yeah it came at the expense of my team but baseball needs teams like the Diamondbacks to come through
