Yeah that’s why I say they give him a full year and Goodell basically says, “aww well the NFLPA wanted to lower the suspension to xx games, put the blame on them”. He will get lit up if it is a year or longerIf they give him a year or more and it stays that way...I agree, the players union will be all over Goodell because of Snyder and Kraft. If memory serves, the owners are supposedly held to a higher standard. But that's not how they've been dealt with.
Have seen some say Browns might prefer a full year suspension over a long one (like 10-12 games) but one that allows this season to count for watson. Not sure if this is true, but their logic is then this season doesn't count and Watson's $1.035 mil base would then be his base next year as opposed to being $43 mil and that would be the start of his new deal.Well mostly certainly the NFLPA will appeal to the full year and use the owners as an excuse to fight it down. I think it very well start at one year but after the appeal 10-12 or something like that. The NFL has really shit the bed from an owners’ discipline standpoint. I guess we will see
Still think 6-8 games when all said and done and while surprised less wont shock me.For awhile I was thinking 8-10 but it most likely is a full year and with an appeal under a year. Probably 12 or something along those lines. It wont be a full year after suspension, Goodell will get sued after the way he handled Kraft and other owners situations
I mean, I'd bet on nearly anything I was as sure as you seem to be here. Maybe you are just talking out of your ass?No I do not, seems like a weird thing to bet on. I’ll let you be wrong though.
Well obviously no one knows for sure. I’m pretty good at putting things together though.I mean, I'd bet on nearly anything I was as sure as you seem to be here. Maybe you are just talking out of your ass?
but not confident enough to even bet fake money?Well obviously no one knows for sure. I’m pretty good at putting things together though.
From a cap situation does this harm the Browns plans, help their plans or is it a net no gain or loss?

A full-season suspension would pause Deshaun Watson's contract for a year, putting him under contract to the #Browns through 2027, not 2026. It also would replace his $46M salary in 2023 with his 2022 salary of $1.035M, per

Seems like it helps them...at least if it's a choice between missing a full season or, say, 10 games (or whatever amount needed for season not to count for him)From a cap situation does this harm the Browns plans, help their plans or is it a net no gain or loss?
Closer didn’t have it today, congrats to Ole MissOklahoma imploding
What I figured would happen all along. It just took the Browns ponying up some money.
