At least Guardians is similar enough that I can remember they're the Indians I guess.

Is there a state less "Jazz" than Utah, lol? Then again, not a lot of lakes or clipper ships in LA either...

If Utah would have to give the name Jazz back to New Orleans I'm sure the people in that state could come up with a name for the team.

If you follow orders that put children in this kind of danger, you still deserve the criticism IMO.

Again though.

If a rogue cop busted in there against orders and accidentally shot a kid he would be in prison for life.

It is obvious the police screwed up.

Not fair to blame the rank and file for following orders to stand down. The superiors who had the information needed to make the right call.

They failed.

And it was the gunman putting the kids in danger, the inaction allowed it to continue. Semantics, but it is a big deal when talking about liability and blame.

Liability is a legal consideration
Blame is a court of public opinion consideration.
I’m sorry, but if there isn’t a report of certain officers pushing back on decision making on the scene they hold just as much blame. Every instinct a cop should have should entail going in to save those kids.

There was though. At least in what I have read.

There were cops saying they needed to go in. Ranking officers ordered them to stand down while they did nothing because they claimed the shooter wasn’t active.

Clearly wrong.

If they're more concerned with liability and blame, they're in the wrong profession.

I highly doubt an accidental shooting puts anyone in prison for life, let alone an officer.

Speaking of that scumbag heard yesterday the league will announce his suspension by the 4th of July.

Again, how is a suspension even possible without a legal outcome first? The most they should be able to do is the exempt list.

Well, it should.

Not the same as a judgement call on the street.

Once orders are given the expectation is that the orders are followed.

And if they aren’t, the person who doesn’t had best not be wrong.

Yep. You don’t need a legal outcome to establish conduct unbecoming in this situation.
All of the players agree to a code of conduct, that’s why I really don’t think the players association is going to be able to do much for him.

Unbecoming compared to....? Kraft got nothing, Snyder still owns his team.

The guy made inappropriate advances towards a masseuse (on many occasions) and masturbated in front of some of them. While absolute shitty behavior, which part is illegal?

And conduct unbecoming is purposefully vague contract language that can be used to justify action taken in many different cases. The negative publicity he has brought to the league and the teams he’s been on is enough to trigger action. The NFL has its own code of conduct and their own standard for culpability.

Not to mention this is all he said/she said situations and the result of a lawyer issuing a cattle call for more cases.
