Do you not recall Watson demanding a trade and saying his Texan days were over?

He clearly said that before any of allegations were public.

He didn’t want to play there anymore. No semantical gymnastics by you is going to change that fact.
Yep.

That’s a long write-up but I will say the Indians find a way to be good even with 3 lowest payroll. They are just great at finding talent and developing it. Hopefully this Blitzer at some point takes over for good, if an owner will actually spend with the talent and developing ….can be the 90’s Indians
So still no titles then?

Sure, but if Watson gets a full year.....on to next season

I'm simply tired of all the Watson stuff. He's a scumbag. It would be nice if the league makes their decision soon as to how long he'll be suspended.

How many other teams can say the same in the last 27 years? A lot. The Indians have been unfortunate but they still have been in 3 WS in that timeframe. They've had Dolan for a LONG time, way too long. It's the same thing almost every year, even when they were spending they were around average.

Braves, Yankees, Marlins, DBacks, Angels, Red Sox, White Sox, Cards, Phillies, GIants, Royals, Cubs, Astros, Nationals and Dodgers.

I would venture to say one of those teams had a low payroll off the top of the head, the Royals. Extreme disadavantage in MLB. They need to create a floor.

It might initially be a full year but get knocked down upon appeal.

my thought is that its a good thing the person ruling on it was a former federal judge. Judge's are trained to take emotion and public opinion out of it. And really- if you go by actual evidence of some kind of illegal action taking place- there really isnt any.

now Watson is def. a scumbag- but its not illegal to be scummy. Now- the question is- can the NFL suspend someone for a long time just for being scummy and hurting the shield- when people that do actual violence get lower suspensions? I think unfortunately the answer is yes- and it comes down to public relations - which maybe the former judge separates from the argument.

Oh Guardians/Indians are def. better run than the Phillies- thats not even a question. This is a rebuilding year and they are still playing pretty well- mostly due to a very good pitching staff.....

and as I said- the Guardians best 5-6 prospects havent even been called up yet. I dont see contending this year- unless its for a wild card- or maybe a division since the White Sox have faltered and the Twins have pitching issues---- and even next year they will still be growing- but the core is here for another sustained run after this year, and maybe next year.

Espino is going to be nasty. A better McKenzie. Naylor should give them a guy who can actually hit a little at catcher.

the battle for SS between Arias and Rocchio is going to be interesting. Arias will get the first shot- both are still so young- but Rocchio could be there next high level all star position player.

I wonder if they will give Valera a cup of coffee this year. Hes killing it in AA. Still very young though. And if Gonzalez keeps hitting- maybe they just keep hi mdown.

Game 7 of the regular season maybe.... i didnt realize the schedule for the regular season was out already . lol

Tatum- what a choke artist. At least his green uniform covered it up when he puked all over himself.

its the same with Denzel Ward's extension. Its typical of teams to convert most of the first year into bonus money that can be amortized for cap purposes for the entire length of the contract.

That might hold true if the Browns didn't still have $24M in open cap this season. No point in pushing that money forward if you have cap space now.

Maybe one day you'll get to see your NBA team win a title outside your elementary school years?

and, yes...maybe I'll see NFL or MLB...ever?

That said, my second choice for a title for my teams is OSU football and I've seen 2.

How quaint, lol. Only championship I'm waiting for is the Bills, and that could be coming soon...

Lakers, check x11 (was far too young to remember '72). Rams, check x2, Dodgers, check x2. Heck, even Syracuse Orange basketball got one. I'm realistic enough to know a Cuse football 'ship isn't worth considering, lol.

The answer is definitely yes, but I'll argue that it shouldn't be. Same with the MLB and that ridiculous suspension for Bauer.

Lmao I stated a fact that is still true
How is it true the Browns did this to help Watson if they do this for nearly every large extension? Or are you thinking they are looking to help out Garrett, Ward, Njoku, etc. in case they are suspended?

I never said the Browns did it to help Watson in any way.

No, that blip in 1948 is well known. I meant in recent memory...a continuation of the drought.

Technically they have two. But yeah recently hell no. And their name, it sucks.
