I'm talking about Mayfield.

You wanna talk about OBJ.

I wasn't talking about him.
you weren't talking about OBJ? Post 17,087......

"After OBJ's dad went to social media and ripped Mayfield multiple players lobbied to keep OBJ in Cleveland."

no idea who this guy is. First one he could have made up. Third is just kooky talk. Sure...make him look bad if you may want to trade him. Makes sense.
All Cleveland insider. It's from the article Trotter wrote.

That bridge is toast, it doesn't matter at this point, plus if GM's believe articles than they aren't doing their job. They likely have their own sources checking things out, every source could say something different so this isn't changing how GM's perceive Mayfield. Trotter is pretty reliable though. They either think he can play or he can't play at this point. Mayfield lost the team, nobody was backing him you could just tell by body language, whether it was his fault or not.

I can agree with most of that when it comes to last season. Seemed like he was liked and backed in 2020, though. Body language told me he didn't believe in himself.

I actually don't believe the bridge is toast if you are saying what I think. The FO and coach are adults and if AB cannot make a deal that helps the team I could definitely see Baker coming to camp. Might be best for everyone if he could come in, put his head down and work.

Mad respect for Hurts how he handles the questions from the media and all the pressure he's going to face next season on basically a 1 year prove it deal so to speak.

I like the kid, I hope he succeeds.

That too and when the QB has that kind of body language it flows throughout the team, I'm sure it was discouraging with the injury but he decided to play. Tough kid

No chance he reports.

He'll wait till they can find a trade.

I'd say no chance he doesn't report, as if he does not report he wont get paid....... also wont accrue a season and will still have to play on his 5th year option again in 2023.

No, I meant as far as how other teams perceive him...worded it wrong. I don't mean that he doesn't have any value but the bad situation has passed...I don't see it getting worse as far as how teams perceive Mayfield. Teams know who he is at this point imo.

As far as coming to camp, I'm not sure about that but I feel pretty confident he won't play another snap for CLE. Lets hope he is traded before camp comes into play though

My guess would be something happens before camp or shortly into it and agree highly unlikely he takes another snap here.

Though I do think more likely he takes another snap than either being released or traded in a bad deal for us (eating up a ton of his salary for a late round pick, for instance).

I think he'll get dealt.

The asking price will need to drop and they'll have to eat about half his contract though.

I agree he will eventually be dealt. However, we don't have to make a bad deal. I could see eating half his contract for a decent pick. Not so sure they would for a later pick.

They kinda need to unload him. Be really bad if he was in the locker room, I could actually see them telling him to stay away from the team until they can find a deal for him. Like some basketball players get told.

Right. They're fine salary cap wise. Still have enough for Jadaveon and a semi decent receiver. If they deal Baker I'd suspect they're just looking to save cash for next year.

No basketball tonight but at 6 central on espn there is a big softball game for those interested. No 1 OU vs No 7 Okie light. In fact espn is carry the 3 game series the next few days.
I know a lot are excited about this so I need to make a correction. It’s actually 7 central.
