Baseball should have placed a hard deadline to opt out as the NBA/NFL did.]

Stroman from the Mets just opted out today nearly 3 weeks into the season. Cespedes did the same last week. Doing this in the middles of the season is ridiculous

Personal situations change as have perceptions around the league with safety protocol.

Cant really tell a player they aren’t allowed to forgo their salary and leave the team due to Covid issues.

Agree. But unlike the guys who leave for family reasons, they shouldn't be allowed back.

I thought we were talking about MLB.

I am like 99% sure MLB has that rule. I don’t think the NBA does.

lol

I thought it was the other way around. I thought the NBA had that rule and MLB didn't.

didn't the NBA extend their "hard" deadline a couple times? You really believe a guy could not leave the bubble if he wanted? That said, might be hard to opt out then change mind and come in as some baseball players have done.

we'll see if NFL sticks to their hard deadline and wont allow anyone to change mind....agree with you, better if they don't. But also agree with tlance. How could you stop someone who opts in then decides to leave?

If you haven't heard what's going on with the Indians couple players have been dumbasses and been taken off roster.

after his win in Chicago, Plesac met some friends at a bar/restaurant. He was sent home. worse was we later found out Clevinger was with him. He was with team for game and flew home with them before anyone was aware. He's been quarantined.

THIS is the kind of things that can shut down a team. And shame on them with guys like Carrasco and Tito with serious health issues.

ACC, B12 and SEC still holding out, but my guess is they cave....what a clusterfuck that would make the draft with a spring CFB or no CFB season.

still think a decent shot of an NFL season as long as they do what they are supposed to OFF the field.

Not worried about the NFL starting....now if they can finish is another topic

Yep....Like MLB will all depend on players.

as for BIG CFB, haven't heard this said anywhere so nothing to back this.......possible BIG closed down early hoping they get sued by parents/players and/or an injunction that would force them to play and take liability out of their hands? Pretty smart if that was the play.

Heard an interesting stat this morning re: the NFL QB debates we were having a week or so ago.

6 of the Seahawks 11 wins last year were games where they trailed at halftime and Russell Wilson brought them back.

That's the most games of that type won by a team since 1970.

If he ever gets hurt or leaves...the Seahawks are fucked. lol
