You think the goal posts have been moved? Don't even know what to say to that. The chances of getting seriously ill, or worse, once you've had the vaccine are dramatically lower. That's already been proven. From the very beginning it was said breakthrough infections would happen. SAS had a breakthrough infection. But not a single vaccine maker promised 100% protection from this global virus.

And how do you know that SAS doesn't have some kinda underlying health condition that he's never made public? If he does that would complicate things for him.

I think it's fair to say the vaccines have not performed near as well preventing infection as initially promised

Granted they didn't factor for the mutations being as prevalent

Early on the vaccine was promoted as preventing serious illness or death, I'm just playing catch up here as that has now changed. SAS may very well have an underlying health condition. And I've been vocal that those in a particular risk profile should take the vaccine if it suits them; I've been more against blanket vaccine mandates. But in SAS situation, it's not helpful to promote the vaccine when it's clear as day you were still seriously ill which was one of the benefits of the vaccine.

And that's fine, as a society we're still learning, I wish that's something both sides of the aisle (pro-vax/anti-vax) could agree upon.

More people just need to be more empathetic.

But I'll digress as I don't want to muddy this thread up when this is talked about ad nauseam on the Politics forum.

I think what changed is the omicron variant. Came along after the vaccines. As far as the vaccine mandates. Not getting into that topic as it doesn't really affect me at the the moment. I put a mask on when I got into stores only because some places require them.

It has been interesting here. Some stores have signs out front that say masks are required, most don't and none seem to be enforcing them (even the stores with signs saying they are required).

Well this is disgusting.

Some goofy woman in California was hospitalized one day after binge-eating 32 sushi rolls at a buffet. Her entire menu.

-four gyozas

-one bowl of edamame beans

-two jalapeno poppers

-one bowl of miso soup

Alotta places around here require masks. But I think that's more of being on the caution side since this is a college town. Kids & common season go together like oil & water.

You do realize that football is more than just skill players? How about the defenses that Rivers had? When Big Ben one, he had a top 5 defense in place. Big Ben also threw to great WRs as well when he won.
In 2006 the Chargers defense was 7th in scoring allowed.

In 2007 they were 5th.

In 2008 they were 11th.

In 2009 they were 11th.

In 2010 they were 10th.

In 2011 they were 22nd.

In 2012 they were 16th.

In 2013 they were 11th.

In 2014 they were 13th.

In 2015 they were 21st.

In 2016 they were 29th.

In 2017 they were 3rd.

In 2018 they were 8th.

In 2019 they were 14th.

During the Rivers career they had a pretty good defense most of the time.

Not horrible ones like you claim.

So three times in his career he had a top 10 defense. In 2007 he ran into an undefeated Patriots team in the playoffs. And by 2017, Rivers was basically cooked. Now do the Steelers.

Undoubtedly Pittsburgh had better supporting caats but its also hard to insinuate success that never happened.

Rivers won 5 playoff games
Ben won 13
