He's learning. You can see it in his most recent outings...

Not worried about Mahomes one bit...

I'm not either. He just needs to learn when to try to force it and when to just take what the defense is giving. I think he will figure it out.

Agree. Just because the play didn't work, doesn't necessarily mean it was a bad call. Sometimes you make the right call and the defense wins anyway.

...and sometimes you take the extra point and guarantee at least overtime. They weren't playing against Rodgers, Brady, etc; they were playing against a toasted Roethlisberger, even if the Steelers were moving the ball late. I hated when the Bills went for 2 against the Titans too earlier this year. These coaches use all of these stats to defend their over-aggressive play calling; I wouldn't do the same. A lot of instances where teams are going for 1st downs to chase TDs when they have a solid lead and are in easy FG range too. If you're up 14, take the FG. Irresponsible coaching IMO, but I know I'm in the minority.

Would you consider the Lions going for it on 4th down in opposing FG range the right call just because they were able to mount a late drive to win the game after giving up the go-ahead TD as a result?

@ChiefsLakers67 and @trojanfan12 want to take a moment to thank the USC program on shifting the landscape around CFB. If it weren't for you guys plucking Riley (as well as Herbstreit calling out the Miami admin), we'd still be stuck with Diaz. With that being said, gents, thank you.

And you could also thank Miami for taking out Oregon and giving USC free reign in the Pac 12 (sans Utah). :D

lol

No prob. Thank you as well.

Seriously though, the timing of everything has been crazy. It's like everyone was sitting back wanting to do the same thing, but no one wanted to go first. Then USC finally said..."Fuck it. We fired our coach first, we may as well hire ours first" and lit the fuse.

I never saw a crazier CFB offseason. For the first time in 15 years, I'm optimistic about football. Richt gave me a glimmer of hope, but I knew we got him 10 years too late.

My concern with a 12 team playoff is what will it do to the regular season. It would have to be shorter than what it is now right?

The only thing it will do to the regular season is keep people interested longer. For many teams, an early loss or 2 can end their shot at a playoff...even if they're the conference champ.

A 12 team (or even 8 team) playoff would keep folks interested longer and also allow for teams that come on later in the season. For example...I doubt a lot of teams would want to see Utah in the cfp this year.

It could diminish CCG's because there will be more instances where both teams are going to be in the playoff. But even then, they have seeding and a possible home game or 2 to play for.

Totally agree with you. Should have been a more specific. Meant the amount of games in the regular season.

Yeah, Brady won last year so he could show everyone that he can win without Belichik...now Belichik has to show that he can win without Brady.

I was never a Brady Pats fan. Always wanted them to lose with the exception of their first SB and probably the falcons superbowl but I did not like how people shitted on Bill last season like Brady made him and he was some crappy coach. Love what he's doing this year to shut those losers up

I never understood how people couldn't accept that Brady could be an all-time great QB, and that Bellichick could also be an all-time great HC. They both complemented each other, hence the run they had in New England.

The praise for Belichick for last night's game plan is silly. The Bills came up empty on two 4th quarter red zone possessions. For all the rushing yards, the Pats were 0-1 in red zone chances. The Pats defense won the game, not the offense.
