My case for the Saints getting 12 wins (this is the best case scenario ftr. I think 11 is the most likely outcome)

Sweep the Falcons
Beat the Eagles in Philly
Win 1 of the 3 games vs Tennessee, Buffalo, and Dallas (Buff and Dal are home games)
Beat the Jets in Jersey
Beat the Fins at home
Beat Carolina at home

I don't think it is that crazy. They should be favorites in all of these games except the 3 against Tenn, Buff, and Dal which I'm only saying they have to win 1 of those games but yeah "LOL" away

That’s an easy schedule

Exactly my point. I would be extremely disappointed with 10 wins. My guess is they slip up vs one of those bad teams and end up with 11 but the path to 12 is very clear.

Sad thing is the Bucs schedule is just as easy so unless they find a way to win in Tampa, the division race still looks over. Tampa remaining schedule looks like a 14-3 season for them

I don’t know that I disagree but remember this is a head to head comparison with Simien.

Right.

And even if Hill is the slightly better option at QB (I do think it is close).

Playing Hill at QB means you can’t play him anywhere else.

Hill at QB is pretty easy to game plan for defensively.

Hill at WR/TE/RB/situational QB makes the offense far more multiple and better, IMO.

Disagree. Comparing the two QBs something they have in common is an inability to press the ball downfield. That means that the defense will gang up on the box and the short stuff regardless of who starts. Hill's skill set gives them options to try and exploit those looks Simien can not. It seems like you are willing to play the lesser of the two QBs just so you can maintain a gimmick personnel group used about 6-7 times a game. I'm prioritizing the 60-80 other snaps in the football game.

They failed. stars kept dropping passes. Steeler rookie TE catches a ball in back of EZ with guy draped all over him and ball knocked away.

Browns vets dropped passes that hit them in the hands and fumbled.

No excuses for them.

Pretty much this

Just heard that Giants QB Daniel Jones has been sacked 100 times. He's been in the league since 2019. Giants might want to get an o-lineman or 2 before they get him killed.

Shitty OL + QB with very little awareness.

I bet 20% of his sacks are him holding the ball way too long and it doesn't help he fumbles every other sack. The Giants are a mess, I didn't like the Daniel Jones pick but if you are going to reach for a guy you better have an OL built or at least give your best effort protecting him.

Gettleman SHOULD be gone this offseason if not before. If he isn't there is a problem and then the new GM gets to decide if he wants to keep Daniel Jones around.

Through 35 career games (34 starts), Jones has 46 turnovers: 27 interceptions and another 19 fumbles lost. Jones has fumbled the ball 36 times alone in his career, with 17 of them recovered by the Giants.

Agree.

I think any QB (especially a young one) needs to have at least a passable o-line. Imo, a young QB, especially one that is a bit of reach, needs to have any chance at all. So, other than injuries or "mop up minutes", he shouldn't be playing until they do.

I'm not a Giants fan so I haven't seen a lot of him. But from the little I've seen and what I've heard, it seems like there's something to work with there. But if he ends up hurt or shellshocked...they're going to ruin him.

Yep and it's why I thought the Bears sitting Fields for a year would be the best thing for the kid. Franchises can ruin QB's that have potential...not to mention coaches in general for any position but you have to be very careful with the decisions you make regarding a young QB, one slip up and it changes everything.

Except…

Hill proved last year he was incapable of involving Kamara in the short passing game.

I think Semian can do that.

Nah, he sucks.

I mean yes, QBs need time to throw.

But Daniel Jones in indecisive and he misses a lot of easy throws.

A lot of those sacks are on Jones as much or more than the O line which isn’t good.

Look no further than Mark Sanchez on the Jets. Jets go to 2 AFC Championship games with him at QB. Then they trade or let leave through FA, most of the talent around him and then wonder why "buttfumble" became a thing. lol

You're leaning on a marginal performance that was bolstered by a defense that prepared for Winston and not Simien. Future game plans would entail man employed across the board with 8 in the box to take away Kamara run/pass.

I will say, a lot of QBs are short-sighted as well when it comes to this. When that second contract comes, QBs try to maximize their earnings. Look at Tom Brady (yes, being married to Gisselle is pretty nice), but he left money on the table to put quality pieces around him. Wasn't just to win Super Bowls, but he had a solid OL and rarely got hit. You're seeing it early on with Mahomes, his play is starting to slip and that's evident as he's working with 2 new tackles on his OL. Just wait until his second contract kicks in and they have to start letting quality pieces go.
