Yeah...true.

TJ12 is the only one semi backing me up....with friends like y'all who needs enemies?

Just trying to say temper expectations.

If you go in talking about/hoping for that 1/100 crazy turn around you are most likely going to be disappointed.

My hopes for the Commanders this year were somewhere near a .500 record and for Daniels to show potential.

They wildly overachieved what I was hoping for and it was amazing.

Would rather have that situation than to set the bar unrealistically high and be disappointed.

But I guess you Laker fans don’t know what it is like to go decades without winning.

Not being as good as he was hyped to be?

He played with an awful oline at Colorado. Thinking a qb who played with a shit line for 2 straight seasons is overhyped is an interesting and a hater like take.

Not sure what you're talking about.

Been decades since the Raiders were serious contenders....that's why I am wanting a quick turnaround, not a patient rebuild.

Ummm…

Alex Smith was pretty good. He was a winner.

99-67-1 career record in games he started, more than 11 wins 4 times and perhaps most impressively, he had an 11-5 record across 2 seasons with the Commanders.

Not anywhere close to elite, but put him with talent and he could absolutely get the job done.

In the regular season.
I can’t take credit for this. Saw it somewhere else.

Andy Reid benched Alex Smith to turn the offense over to a big play machine in Mahomes and over time Andy Reid turned Mahomes into a check down guy rarely throwing the ball more than 10 yards just like Alex Smith.

Everything? No. But, yes, I do understand FOs in NBA and NFL like to keep draft, trade and even FA intel to themselves. I also know that many of the big deals made - especially in NBA - were those no one really saw coming. In addition, I know trade rumors can be thrown out and no accountability if wrong and they garner clicks so why not?

Was a recent one in NBA that might qualify as such (didn't see coming)...cannot recall what it was though. Little help?
That one sure did but plenty of trades happen after the rumors turn out to be true.

Pretty much.

He going to be good if he goes to a team that has an OL. Unlike's Caleb's rookie season with the Bears.

No way to a 'quick turnaround' though, when does that ever happen? It takes a couple years to go from Raiders bad to playoff good

Is that what you want for the Raiders again? A good qb. Carr was a good qb for years. Good qb’s put you in middle ground of the league
Eagles have been to two of the last 3 Super Bowls winning 1 with what most would call a “good” QB. People still place Hurts below Lamar Burrow Allen Herbert and others they place on that top level.

It is definitely not what you aspire to get with an early draft pick.

But I think most teams would be quite happy with a good QB as long as they can load up on talent everywhere else.

Jalen Hurts is an example of that. It works sometimes.

We shore up the OL, sign somebody (not necessarily him) like Najee Harris, add some to the defense and I think they can be good.

I don't think you need an elite QB. Hurts definitely isn't elite. But, he is a good one.
The Raiders are a garbage organization, my guy. Not sure why you bother honestly. Al Davis weird kid needs to sell that jawn for you guys to ever matter again.

Yep. And the Raiders have almost 100 mill in cap space once they release Minshew. Which is expected.

Plus their big FA acquisition last offseason (Wilkins) missed most of last season. He and Crosby should form a nice duo on the DL.

And Carroll was pretty damn good hire as the new HC. As bad as things have been since releasing.Carr....things are looking up now.
I'd want to see results on field first but no doubt get why you'd be encouraged by what you've seen so far very early this offseason.

Carroll was a fantastic hire and there is reason for optimism.

Because, I ride and die with my squad and not hop on bandwagons btw.

Be careful

Spending big in free agency rarely works out well unless the team is a player or 2 away. Like the Eagles were.

Raiders have a lot of holes. If you fill them in free agency, you are going to overspend on vets whose best days are often in the past.

Better to be patient, rebuild through the draft and make those small shrewd moves that improve depth vs the big free agency splash
Mostly agree........but I do like what Browns did early with this rebuild (but didn't have as much cap space as LV seems to have). Spent on some studs in FA like Conklin but whoever they went after was a guy off his rookie deal. One also Hooper and that didn't work out so great.

Guy before them had a lot more cap space and did seem like he was more into splashes (not FA, but like OBJ) and didn't pan out as well.

Best running back and best defense
Best OL
Arguably one of the best receiving corps in Brown Smith and Goedert
And special teams in the playoffs were great as well. Caused two turnovers on kick offs, solid punt return game, only missed kicks were in the snow.
