The only 2024/2025 NFL MVP acknowledged in this household is Saquan Barkley

Josh Allen is absolutely the right pick.

That takes nothing away from Barkley’s greatness.

Very difficult to be MVP at RB, only touching the ball about 20 times per game. Easier than WR, but how much of Barkley's greatness is that Philly o-line? Philly can win with their backup at RB, Bills/Ravens cannot win with backup QBs.

It was actually Gainwell’s worst performance carry average of his career. I’m not saying Barkley should be MVP based on what the media has made the award. I’m pushing back on the idea that this is all a product of his OL. Miles Sanders never did this with the same OL, arguably a better one because of Kelce. Ironically, if the Eagles needed the game and Barkley breaks Dickerson’s single season record he likely wins MVP. Either way, what really matters is Barkley has a football game on Sunday.

Never said "all". Only saw a few games, and the really big plays had holes you could drive a truck through. Was just asking the question.

MVP has only been a RB once since 2006: Peterson in 2012 (another quest to break ED's rushing record). It's shifted from a QB/RB award to a QB award for better or worse.

How much of Allen's greatness is his O line and receivers? Football is the most team-y sport there is

That said, I agree QBs are far more valuable and I agree with Allen getting it

Barkley is great. He had one of the best RB seasons of all time. Nobody taking that away.

Still doesn’t make him more valuable than Josh Allen, who is literally the Bills offense

Instead of studying just Chiefs calls…

I would like to see a study of all home games in the NFL. Do home teams tend to get a little advantage with the flags?

I know that is a thing in basketball.

If that is a league norm (which makes sense because officials are humans) then all of the disparity could be explained away by that.

Sports illustrated did an article in like 2008 that found that home teams get a decent chunk more calls

There's a level of chicken/egg to star calls though, especially for defenders. Star corners get away with more contact and holding, which in turn makes them more effective.

And all stars may get calls, but they do not get equal calls. Guys like Mahomes and Brady get a higher level of protection from the refs than someone like Allen does, which is why the past year or two he has resorted to embellishing that contact.

Brady and his team got more calls than anyone

The beginning and end of the Tampa gb nfccg alone proved that

They forced a comeback in the atl sb with a clear forward pass being called a fumble even after video review and they ignored a dude getting his helmet ripped off by his facemask 2 feet from an official

Not to mention the Malcom butler bullshit

The made you Chris Jones roughing the passer

Lee evans getting 3 feet down

He got all kinds of bullshit

@bksballer89 I like the coaching move the saints are about to do. Dallas really messed up letting him get away.

It’s not about the coach down there. That whole organization is a mess. Moore would have been better off waiting a year like the Lions coordinators did. Moore will be there for 3 years and get fired. Won’t be his fault.
