And in a very gimmicky way.

Sounds like something to try to sell tickets in a cheap knock off league.
Unfortunately you aren’t far off it seems.

Imagine starting pitchers only throwing 5-6 innings a game and never completing games. Imagine guys only able to walk, strike out, and hit home runs. The game changes, 150 years is a long time. I don't know if I like this idea but I don't oppose change just because.

Also, and I didn't look closely yet, would this give hitters more ABs or just allow a team to change the hitting order once?

From what I understand, what they are currently looking at could result in an extra at bat per game. For example, you could have Ohtani hit in someone else's spot 1 inning and still have him leading off the next inning.

Not sure how it would work but that to me makes it more gimmicky and dumber. My idea would be once a game you can switch 2 players in the lineup. So you have to factor in not having your stud the next inning or whatever. If you’re going to add something this unusual at least keep it as reasonable as you can, extra abs every game are not necessary.

I also read they were considering just letting a team do this when they are trailing which makes sense to me.

Texas played the following teams this year in conference play

Georgia
Florida
Mississippi State
Oklahoma
Vandy
Arkansas
Kentucky
A&M

That is one 7-5 team, three 6-6 teams, 4-8 team, and a 2-10 team. Yeah I’m sureee Cuse couldn’t do better than 6-6 with this schedule

Not every team in the sec had a hard conference schedule. We need to quit with that lie that so and so team would do so poorly had they played in the sec.

The thing is the bottom half of the sec is better than the bottom half of any other conference, just a fact. And I’ll never be a rah rah person of any conference.

The only drama is whether Miami or Bama get bumped for the big 12 champ.

Solid point espn made is smu is high enough where it makes you wonder if they lose to Clemson in a super close game that they get one of the final at large spots. How do you defend dropping them down 4 or more spots if they lose a 23-20 game?

This is relevant to my comment how? Was Texas conference schedule not easy or are we acting like Mississippi state and Kentucky are now good? Arkansas ,Vandy, and Oklahoma are mediocre as well

Just how it is, the ACC and Big 12 arent getting more than one team.

Texas conference schedule was pretty easy yes, they got a gift for some reason. And the bad thing is the sec doubled down with the same schedule next year.

There’s certain if not most teams in the SEC that could have played the same bama schedule with those same losses and would be an afterthought for the playoffs.
