Just pointing out the fact that it's significantly harder to get that perfect record in a tougher conference.

I get what you are saying, my point is a lot of the stuff is fabricated. Remember when the big 12 had the qbs and the games were 50-45 and all people could say was no defense. Now we see more games like that in the SEC than anywhere else it seems. My team is headed to the sec, but make no mistake about it parity is coming. It’s already started.

Really, the only SEC team that one could say has been consistently better has been Bama. UGA has only truly been at the top for a couple of seasons. In fact, before the past couple of seasons, UGA fans were calling for Kirby Smarts head. LSU has stepped up a couple of times, but mostly they've been an above average team, but not NC level. Kind of like they are this year.

Auburn had a good couple of seasons with Cam Newton but have mostly been average at best. They just got beat by New Mexico State the week before the Bama game.

Outside of Bama, the SEC isn't all that different from any other conference other than their fans and coaches cry louder when things don't go their way.

If you guys are following the conversation, I clearly implied that FSU belongs up there in the top 15... with a host of SEC teams.

I mean if they had a straight forward system i think the interest remains the same. The winner of the bama/georgia would have been an automatic bid while the other would miss out. Great tv if you ask me

It is easy to have a straight forward system with a small number of teams that play a set schedule.

Can’t do that in college with as many teams as they have.

Impossible to accurately equate schedules of teams in different conferences.

I'm good with the AP poll, they aren't required to follow along with the BCS/CFP like the coaches poll.

In the coaches poll, they are required to vote whoever wins the NC game #1, even if they don't agree. That's how we ended up with a split NC back in 2003 or 04 when the AP voted USC as their NC and LSU won the BCS NC game.

If memory serves, at least 2 coaches were threatened with losing their vote because they refused to vote for LSU.

I don't trust any poll where the voters are required to vote a certain way.

This why i will always love pro sports more than college sports and it doesnt come close. The fact that we dont have a straight forward system on who makes the playoffs will always be trash to me. Doesn't bother me much in college basketball since it is usually a debate of who is 30th something best team that didnt win their conference tourney while in football we are relying on a couple people opinion on who is a top 4 team
