It is facts.

Basketball has a world championship.

The NBA is a pro league that has nothing to do with a world championship.

And yet, people incorrectly call the NBA winner “world champ” because they have always done so.

They called MLB, NBA and NFL winners world champs long before international players were prevalent in their leagues. This goes back since before most of us were even born. And well before these leagues were international.

I don’t care what American born players think, but I would love to hear Giannis and Jokic and other top international players.

You think if someone walked up to Jokic and congratulated him on a world championship he would correct him/her?

sure seems like baseball has been big in Japan as long or longer than basketball in other countries....yet no uproar about calling MLB final series the WORLD series?
