What happens to teams that don't advance past group play?

Do the teams that advance, play more games than scheduled?

You go about your regular season schedule

So the team that makes it to the Finals, plays one extra game, that doesn't count towards the regular season schedule?

It says games from group play, and the QFs and SFs count towards regular season play.

Also, at the end of the year, will there still be 30 teams inter-conference and 52 games intra-conference?

Or has that changed?

@MHSL82, what is Larry Bird saying about all of this? Since you know Larry Bird quotes so well.

As Larry Bird says, "41 home, 41 away. Dem's the schedule." Simple.

The Pelicans won their group. What does that article mean, they fell a point short of the wild card berth? The Pelicans didn't need the wild card, they won their group.

Boston vs. Indiana:

Indiana wins, assuming Haliburton plays. If not, Indiana loses.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Sacramento Kings:

Kings lose by double digits and shoot 54% from the free throw line.

Kings have struggled against New Orleans for a while, and missing free throws in home games appears to be a recurring act.

A little surprising Haliburton had a triple double.

Not a surprise that he had a great game.

I didn't realize Haliburton had zero turnovers.

Wow.

Why did Lopez and Livingston have to even shoot at all?

Both were 0-1 but otherwise all over 50%. (There are two Lopi (plural of Lopez).)

Another good find. I wonder if we'll have a 63% game this season. Maybe 69%? 70%?

I'm trying to figure out why New York is playing at Boston.

Through 4 games, New York was +42, Boston +27.

I guess if we count the QFs, then that drops New York to +18, Boston to +17. New York would still hold the lead.

But I don't think that counts, I think only group play counts.

Same with Sacramento and Phoenix.

Sacramento was 4-0 and +30.

Phoenix was 3-1 and +34.

Sacramento should be hosting since they were 4-0.

I had no idea the games were starting so early today.

I have the Pacers and Pelicans winning.

"Haliburton for 3, BANG! More Haliburton Heroics!"

Reggie Miller just called him a superstar.

I have the Indiana winning but Myles Turner is going to have to have a great game.

For the first time in his in-season tournament career, Haliburton might:

* Get less than double digit assists.
* Lose.

Three turnovers. Just kidding, I’m not blaming him, I’m only mentioning it because he had those three great games that you mentioned.

If we include all of the rounds before the QF:

* 4 turnovers, 13 assists against Cleveland
* 0 turnovers, 15 assists against Philadelphia
* 6 turnovers, 16 assists against Atlanta
* 1 turnover, 10 assists against Detroit

Indiana had gone 4-0 in the qualifying rounds.

11 turnovers, 54 assists.

It would have been cool if he had gone 100% on FTs in these 7 combined games, but he missed two FTs. One against Indiana, one against Philadelphia.
