Eh, I'll eat my crow. I thought the Cavs were done after game 4.

I thought they were done after game 2 and then really thought they were done after game 4 - so much so, that I'd completely pushed the fact that I had an avi bet on the series with ChiefsLakers.

I sure am glad I don't know shit!

The Lakers were 5-2 in the Finals, and Kobe was only the best Laker on 2 of those teams. Shaq won the first 3 titles for Kobe. Without him, they don't get out of the West. There's a reason why the Lakers were so mediocre after he left until they brought in another star center.
Fair enough, so I guess LeBron won the title this year "all by himself"?

Hmmm... maybe I don't know. My father in law lives there and my wife has been wanting to visit him, so its a good idea.

I'll be there that week, by coincidence, so chances are I'll kill a few hours there.
Rockets are involved so hopefully Beasley will be in town :D

Last year there were tons of veteran players all over the place watching the games and being real fan friendly in the concourse areas.
I highly recommend it for anyone in that area.

There's a Dick's Sporting Goods store around the corner from my office, and when I went out to lunch, there was probably a 300 yards long line of folks waiting to get in presumably to buy Cavs championship swag. It's like 90+ degrees today - probably hotter in the sun. Folks gotta really want that stuff.

No, I think his point was that LeBron lost the title last year all by himself.

If you're comparing Finals records, it's absolutely appropriate to consider the two players' team strengths during those Finals.

I'm trying to decide who is coming across as a bigger bitter twat, @TurnUpTheHeat or @yoga≈surfing. Maybe we should have a poll?

hey bro..if you run into @SlinkyRedfoot sometime today...tell him I've got a real POLE for him...
thanks.

Let the record show that the gentleman from San Francisco is referencing a pole that he has for another man.

hey...you're the one who brought it up (no pun intended)...not me.

don't deflect.

So I mention a poll and you think of having a pole for me. I wonder what Freud would think about your homophonic fun?

Kobe was a major piece to those 3 titles. Don't diminish that. They don't win those titles without his contributions.
That's what separates the two. Lebron has never been and never will simply be a "major piece". He's the man, no matter what team he's on.

I agree, the Cavs probably don't win the title this year without Irving.

If only online shopping was a thing.

That seems obvious.

A strong case could be made that he was the 2nd best player on the court this series.
There's not even an argument that can be made for anyone else as the 2nd best player in this series for either team.

1st - Congrats Cavs - you deserve it. Brought a huge title home to a city of fans that big time deserve it. Everyone stayed classy as well as the fans.

2nd - I'm hearing from numerous different sports news shows, some bringing up the "fortunate happening of Green being out for game 5" that gave a huge bump in confidence to the Cavs going forward. fine. lets talk about how fortunate GSW were last year when Kyrie and Love were both out of the series. (2 of Cleveland's big 3). That would've been the equivalent of Curry and Klay being out of the Cavs series last year. hmmmm, wonder who would've hoisted the trophy in that scenario. I think we all know the answer to that... :D So Congrats on your 2015 Championship *

I think the Warriors need to approach there game differently next year. They settled for 3's way to much...

Curry could have driven to the hoop but instead took a terrible 3 to match Kyrie... those little things killed them.
