Yea, but the spurs did resort to hero ball with aldrige and lenard against the thunder. The ball movement basically disappeared and all that remained was isolation

It was year one of a complete makeover plan for the next 4 years.

They switched everything around and had to sacrifice a lot of depth to rebrand the team into the Aldridge/Leonard era. That depth was not there at all in 2015-16 for the Spurs. They had to play more isolation ball at times.

Luckily they planned for it about 3 years ago when they made this makeover plan.
They will have a lot of flexibility to add back all that depth in the offseason.
They cooked all their Euro players and contracts to match up at about the same time.

They do this every couple of years. They makeover the entire philosophy of the team every 5 years.
That is what keeps the machine rolling.

People think it is the same thing, but no team changes more than the SPURS.

It cracks me up when people say the Spurs play a boring style of basketball. Yes, they did used to play a pretty boring style. That was a few years back when that was the style that worked best for them. But over the past several years, as roster changes have been made, they have played a more uptempo, ball movement type of offense that is pretty fun to watch.

I'll take boring and winning like the Spurs any day. Better than exciting and losing.

It amazes me that other head coaches can't get their stars more rest. Same thing with OKC. Kerr always seems to manage his guys' minutes really well.

He has a much deeper bench though so it makes it easier to do... For example, Iguadala comes off their bench... as well as Livingston... Both of those guys would start on the Cavs imo over Love and JR Smith, imo... Love honestly looks like a role player out there who has doesn't have that will to win it seems... For example, he loses the battle on the boards way to much for a PF/C in this league... He can't play defense and is too inconsistent offensively, which is why he's not playing much...

His time has come to an end in Cleveland, which it should...

To be fair, Love doesn't fit in the Cavs offense. He needs shots to get into a rhythm and he needs to be able to play in the post.

The Cavs have 2 ball dominant players in Kyrie and Lebron. When they make a concerted effort to get Love the ball he usually does well. The problem is, it then takes away from what Lebron and Kyrie do best.

When Lebron and Kyrie just play their games, Love is left to be a spot up shooter, which is not his game. If Love went to a team that relies on ball movement (Spurs, GSW, etc.) I think we'd see the Minnesota version of Love again.

Going out on a limb here and still saying the Warriors in 6.....I don't think the Cavs are done just yet. Not confident enough to lay some SportsHoopla cash on them, though.

True. LeBron and Irving are all they need.....plus their role players.....and that still isn't enough. The West has the Finals on lock for the forseeable future. Unless, there are injuries.

Yeah, they should look to trade him for a true "stretch 4" or a spot up shooter and a defensive specialist type who can guard multiple positions.

I agree. GS did a great job of adding pieces to the roster. Their depth is impressive.

Kevin Durant SF: I'd personally love to see LBJ and Durant team up... Those two would have great chemistry together... It's almost impossible to find a size match for both LBJ and Durant one on one... These two together would create so many mismatches for the opposing team... They'd have to trade Kyrie and Love to make this possible... Of course this scenario is wishful thinking so i'll move onto the possible opportunities... All this assuming Love is as good as gone...

Marvin Williams PF - A value stretch 4 player who isn't great at anything specifically but very solid at most things... He can stretch the floor and hit the 3, play defense and pound the boards if needed...

Nate Batum SF: Since LBJ likes to play that Hybred spot and run the offense like a PG, Batum would be a very good player to stretch the floor... He reminds me of a younger version of Iquodala...

Bismack Biyombo C: Cav's don't need an offensive weapon down low, they need a defensive presence down low who can block shots...

Aaron Afflalo SG: Defensive specialist coming off the bench who can score if needed... Shumpert needs to be replaced...

Brandon Jennings PG: Getting up there in age but if you're going to build your bench, you need to build them with guys you're going to play... At least Jennings would get some minutes... Mo Morris, J. Jones don't even see the floor...

Just a few thoughts... Not necessarily going to bring all this players into Cleveland but they need to tweak something because they're not even remotely competitive w/ Golden State, who is going to continue to improve w/ their big 3...

Great points and another reason why it's tough to figure out how to build that Cav's team... Love definitely would be a better fit somewhere else... He could go to the Lakers, I think he could do well there but he's just not a good fit for this team.. He definitely hasn't adjust to his role very well... It's almost like he's lost a little bit of an edge since he's come here...
