It took the franchise to places it had never been before. Never could do anything when they got there, but for the first time, they were in the dance most every year for a good little stretch there.

That there was. How quickly will the fans turns on this team if/when they don't make the post season?

Probably similar to any team that isn't the Cubs, Red Sox, Yankees or Giants. Most fans are fairweather. Folks on the Hoop are generally diehard enough to join a message board to talk about their team.

Perhaps with them moving on from the players they did today was a step in that direction of saving some money for those two... What's Machado's deal with the Dodgers? Only a year?

They’re both fas this winter.

Imagine how bad they will be if Harper isn't there anymore

I don't think they'll be a terrible as people might think unless they go full blown firesale in the offseason. They still have one of the true aces in Scherzer and a good, young core to build around in Soto, Turner and Rendon, and their farm system isn't as barren as a team like the Mets, they have some highly regarded prospects, so if they do go in rebuild mode, I can see it being a fairly quick process for them.

And speaking of Ian Desmond, remember when he turned down a 100 million dollar contract?

yeah this is true they still have a very good core and yes a farm system, unlike the Red Sox :(

I think more blame should go to Gio instead of him

They are willing to spend money Not that that solves everything but sure makes it alot easier to rebound:suds:

They've been hit pretty hard with injuries (Strasburg, Rendon, Eaton, Murphy, Zimmerman, Adams).

Strasburg too. Been hurt a lot, and hasn't been particularly good when on the mound.

Yeah but Gio has been god awful and very disappointing... I had high hopes for him this year...

For their sake, if they do, I hope they spend it more wisely than the Mets did this past offseason.

That they have... But it didn't effect how Gio pitched... Or should I say, how he DIDN'T pitch

Isn't Bonilla off the books after this year?
