What really hurt in that inning was the leadoff hit. I have to believe that if he comes up with no one on, they pitch around him. Didn't want to put 2 on with no outs, I have to believe, so they had to go after him. And he made them pay...which he always does.

I was 50/50 on wanting the Nats to get someone at the trade deadline. Now i'm 97/3 in favor of it. With Zim out awhile, all it takes is one more guy to go down (for instance: Werth tonight) and the lineup self destructs.

Only thing I can think of is it was a string of leftys up, which Blevins has been pretty good at this year. Still, I'm with you, prefer Clip any day of the week.

Nats are just a completely different team without Zimmerman. Offense drops off a ton. Who knew he was still the MVP of the team? 23-28 without him. That's not a small sample size anymore.

With Bill Ladson reporting Zim has a grade 3 hamstring strain. "A Grade 3 hamstring strain is considered the most severe, involving a tear"

Please Nats, acquire an infielder today or tomorrow.
