I hate Soriano so much - only guy on the Nats I don't like.

I'm glad his ERA doubled tonight - much more reflective of how he has done as a pitcher this season. Guy can never just go out there and mow 'em down.

I wouldnt mind if both McLouth and Hairston were DFA'd. Getting close to zero production from them, especially the last couple months. Probably wishful thinking, McLouth is making 5 million this year and Hairston is making 2.5 million Talk about stealing money.

Nats pinch hitters rank 26th in avg. Really would like to see a bench upgrade. I know their job is hard, but most other teams are doing OK.

To answer your question about the minors, i would say so. Our AAA affiliate has the best record in the league. Stacked team: Just called up Walters. Still have Tyler Moore, Steven Souza, Brian Goodwin, Eury Perez, Jeff Kobernus..

15 hours later, i still cant believe Williams left Blevins in to face Baker with Stammen, Barrett and Clippard chillin in the 'pen. If I know Blevins' splits, the manager better. Righties are hitting .324 with a .410(!) OBP against him. OPS of .874. No reason whatsoever, with the game on the line, to let Blevins pitch to a righty.

Agreed that Blevins should never face a righty in a situation like that. Clippard was unavailable last night according to reports, but as you all have said, Stammen and Barrett were both available. That was just stupid.
