No Braun, no Lucroy, no A-Ram... there's no reason Strasburg cant breeze thru the lineup

That's mean, but Strasburg pisses me off even more than Gio, just because of his potential that he hasnt lived up to.

What happened to his 98-100 mph fastball? Why can he only top out at 94? His fastball gets rocked all the time.

I think he can still pump it up to that, but for a full season I don't think you want him doing that. He's still learning how to pitch, it seems, rather than relying on the overwhelmingly filthy stuff. He struggles when he doesn't have his best stuff. Hasn't really learned to fight through that and pitch with what he has that day. My take on it, anyway.

Your take is as good as any ive seen. How much longer till he learns how to pitch? haha i am impatient sometimes. But he has been in the big leagues for a while now.

Sounds a lot like Yovani, who isn't quite as talented as Stras, but who is finally learning how to pitch and how to pitch through tough situations without his best stuff.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I think it should have happened by now. Slow learner apparently. And as I type this Davis hits a deep homer. :L

I'm listening on the radio, but it sounded like it was a get-ahead fastball on the first pitch. Can't do that with this team, they swing the bats.

Edit: By "sounded like" I mean from what Charlie & Dave were saying. I do not have super hearing and cannot tell what the pitch was by sound. Just thought I'd clear that up.

Gomez misses a bomb by 2 feet, gets a triple. Pitch was a....... 94 mph fastball. Every. Single. Time.

Disappointing ending. Stras vs Estrada should be a Nats win every time. Offense deserves as much blame as Stras tho, 2 hits vs a 5.22 ERA pitcher coming into today. Last time Estrada had a quality start was back in May.

But on the bright side: Got the series win, Ramos is back tomorrow, bullpen got a days rest thanks to Taylor Hill. Bring on the Cubbies.

Ouch. RZim doubles off the right field wall, and Lake slid into the metal door in the brick. That has to hurt. Hope he's ok.
