I think Span should have to do push-ups like Willie Mays Hayes in Major League 2 for every ball he hits in the air.
Did you hear the noise in the crowd from that foul ball? A Nats fan reached over and caught it but his sunglasses fell over and they weren't tossing them back to him. He acted like he wasn't going to get them back and you could see all the fans kept looking over there.
They showed it on our broadcast, sort of. The announcers seemed to think he was motioning for the ball to be thrown back up to him, which they thought was funny. Didn't realize it was his glasses and not the ball.
I'm sorry guys - they keep showing Bryce Harper in the dugout and it's like everything I see that kid he looks just a little more cocky and arrogant.
First things first, he is cocky and arrogant. But in a way that most superstars are, I think (I realize he may not have "earned" that superstar label yet, so don't kill me for that). He gets a lot of animosity from people just due to the amount of press he gets. In reality, he's a heck of a ballplayer that plays hard on every play. Not sure why people hate that about him.
I understand it to a large degree but he's too young and one way or another, he's too cocky. He's starting to remind me of Josh Hamilton and he's going to be widely hated if he doesn't calm down a little.
You are not alone in your thoughts. I guess my questions is, what does he do to make you say he's too cocky? What was he doing when they showed him in the dugout? Was he "cockily" watching the game? I know that sounds like a smartass question, but I don't intend it to be (much ).
