Looks like it started with Giroux winning the faceoff, to Timonen who shot the puck to Hartnall, with Simmonds getting the final tip in.

That's two games in a row where I posted late in the third period that time was running out and the Flyers scored. Could it be?? IDK.

Long shootouts are just the worst.

Flyers lose in a shootout - shouldn't have lost this one - this falling behind crap is getting annoying - Flyers need to blow someone the fuck out for once

Like I said Cobie, that save by Hutton on Rafl when he stole the puck and had a wide-open net really came up huge against us. We should have never went to another long shoot-out.

The Flyers not converting on some of those power plays earlier hurt them - they got the PP goal to tie it but they should have been able to take advantage at least one more time during that game

As I said, the team defense has to be better - starting to have too many three+ goal games against

Congrats guys, although they didn't get the W they picked up a point which puts them in 2nd place over the Rangers (tied for points but have a game on hand) & Capitals.

I thought we dominated the first 10 minutes of this game, then Nashville got one lucky bounce off a skate and they were off and running. A weak call on G for tripping and then a call they had to make on Timonen led to a 5 on 3 that the Flyers did kill off, but then Legwand scored into basically an empty net just before G could get back into the play. Later on in the game they had a chance to give us a full two minute 5 on 3, but decided not to call Weber for boarding.

I don't think we won enough battles the rest of the way and they effectively locked it down once they went up 3-2. Tying it up while on a 6-4 edge was a bit of a lucky break, but after Hutton was at times looking like Brodeur in his prime, I'd say we were due.

At the end of the day, we stole a point, but I also think we blew several chances to win that game after we did tie it late. Read had a shot deflect off the inside of the post, then hit the back of Hutton and dribble just wide, then we had 1-0 and 2-1 opportunities to win the shootout and Mason wasn't quite able to seal the deal. If he makes a save on either Cullen or Ellis, we win. Instead, he let three straight shooters score.

I come away satisfied with the point, but unsatisfied with our inability to cycle the puck deep in their zone and to defend them from cycling the puck deep in our end. We lost way too many of those battles in this game and (to his credit) if not for Mason, we probably do lose both points and not just the one.
