Yeah, he is probably about 10 years older than someone I'd want for the part and the dude doesn't look young for his age like some actors.

I think its really interesting to make a movie that is guaranteed to always be compared to Gladiator. Kinda like how Scorcese has Goodfellas and the Irishman and the Irishman just feels more mature.

Dead serious. One of his first films was "The Duelists" about 2 soldiers who keep dueling each other through our the Napoleonic Wars... I thought he did a great job with the sets, costumes, the customs, just how people lived in those times. Very detailed. Of course that was the best part of the movie. Lol.

The same with the "The Last Duel" another detailed historical drama about the last "Trial by Combat" but the story is not for everyone.

I think he does a great job with the history part. The stories he picks are not for everyone.
