Only if the California ex-pats in Texas change the makeup of Texas into something totally different from what it is today. And if that happens, no way will that crew actually be organized enough militarily to actually attempt anything like a full rebellion. And fighting against the east coast states? Like NY and Virginia? Very unlikely.

So apparently there is literally zero discussion in the movie about the lore behind why there is a civil war, how the factions came to be, or the maps that play heavily in the trailer.

The perpetually offended people are going to be pissed that they don't get a new perceived injustice.
