Rather, maybe it's a both/and. As in: they factor in both process/formula and the best teams and come up with a compromise decision that accounts for each type of consideration.

There is no need for a compromise cause it is an either or. Either a college football teams entire season matters or it doesn’t. This decision says no, but then how could Ohio State be left out when their resume is better.

Imperfect is an understatement. The push is for college football to be more like the nfl, which is absurd. I almost wish we'd just say muck it and go back to bowl games where the committee does their best to put together the most entertaining match-ups. That's sort of what they're doing anyways.

I was happy with how it was in the 1980s and 1990s. Now the bowl games don't mean anything except for the ones that are part of the CFP. There just might be no way to have a perfect system to determine a champion when there are over 100 teams.

As a fan, I'm glad we got Bama over Texas. I watched how Texas manhandled Bama this year. I know it was an early season game, but Texas looked darn untouchable against Bama. They are going to be tough in the playoffs.

Yeah, it's too bad. I felt like free agency and massive salaries killed pro sports for me. The transfer portal and that name image likeness BS are doing basically the same thing.
