As Kirk Herbstreit said when asked why one team was more worthy of a shot at a national title, you should ask Boo Corrigan, the selection committee chair.

“I think in looking at it, again, that was a decision with Alabama at 4. Florida State is a different team than they were through the first 11 weeks,” Corrigan said. " ... You can lose a running back, you can lose a receiver but when you lose a quarterback as dynamic as Jordan Travis, it changes their offense in its entirety and that was a really big factor.”

No, I think the SEC bias is out of control. I don't need a conspiracy theory for that. It is clear as day.

Or is your bias out of control?

You don't seem to have the same angst about Texas jumping FSU

Nobody can deny it’s a huge factor. It is. Injury should not be a criteria that enters into selection decision; the rest of these kids played their asses off, won all their games and are not in. It’s dumb.

There was NO guarantee of any particular team getting that 4th slot. Several had just as strong a case by schedule. And obviously conference Champs doesn't mean as much as you think.

Bama being the conference champ of the SEC is the main argument for why they deserved to be in. Had Bama beat Texas and lost to the UGA, they wouldn't be in the playoff.

And,obviously, for some reason, the committee chose to change that on the fly.

You must think Nick has compromising photos of all the committee members.

Sorry, but you're blinded by your bias. Bama played one tough OOC game and lost. UGA played zero tough OOC games and actually struggled to beat lowly Georgia Tech. SEC shouldn't have a team in there this year as they clearly didn't deserve it.

Like I said originally, I had them at my #3 slot.

I said why several times. I could repeat it a 4th time, but you won't read it that time either

What bias exactly? What part of my Utah fandom weighs in on this one at all. You as an Alabama fan however......

As an Alabama fan who said I thought the #4 position would go to TX or UGA.

So at least they admit the regular season doesn't mean a damn thing.

Texas was ranked #3 in the AP before the committee did anything.
Putting Texas #3 had nothing to do with some "conspiracy" to screw over Florida State.

Texas passes both the "current playing eyeball test" AND the "season long resume" test.
You could even argue that Texas is right now is playing like the best team.

Texas struggled a bit mid-season to put teams away, but that with a backup freshmen quarterback playing awful at imes.
Ewers was not healthy (or missing outright) for the entire Houston-TCU stretch of 5 games.

If Texas did anything at all to Florida State, it was showing that a team looks diffrent with a backup quarterback.
They probably used texas as an exhibit of what missing a quarterback can do to a team.

Bukka is a blues player who according to artists refused to go full electric He's related to Muddy Waters and actually inspired Muddy's interest in the blues. He has a distinctive voice ( sleepy man's blues ), He and Son House are deep blues traditions from that era. Today blues carry a more electric fashion but that's ok, I prefer listening to Lightning Hopkins, Little Walter, Mama Thorton, Big Joe Williamson, etc. These days I like Little Ed and the blues imperials, The Black keys, Reverend Peyton and his big damn band, and Shamika Copeland

Thanks for the info, very interesting. Being a big Muddy Waters fan I have an immediate interest in White.

You mentioned the Black Keys. They're from my hometown of Akron, known about them for years. A little side not about the Black Keys. They went to the same H.S. that Chrissy Hines of the Pretenders and Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo.

Or are you blinded by yours?

Right... because I've got a dog in this fight. :ipw:

In fact, I don't like any of the teams in there, but I won't hesitate to call BS where I see it. This is nothing more than a committee making up the rules as they go so they can try to get their favorite conference another championship. And by the way, this is supposed to be college sports, not the NFL, so to fuck over a bunch of kids and use an injury as the excuse to get their SEC in is as pathetic as it gets.

I am disgusted and infuriated with the committee's decision today to have what was earned on the field taken away because a small group of people decided they knew better than the results of the games," Norvell said in a statement. "What is the point of playing games? Do you tell players it is OK to quit if someone goes down? Do you not play a senior on Senior Day for fear of injury? Where is the motivation to schedule challenging nonconference games?
"We are not only an undefeated P5 conference champion, but we also played two P5 non-conference games away from home and won both of them. I don't understand how we are supposed to think this is an acceptable way to evaluate a team. ... What happened today goes against everything that is true and right in college football."

I agree with him. Completely unfair to the rest of the team.

Like the pretenders.
I listen to a wide variety of genres depending on my mood. I can go from Cajun to punk. Just can't get too involved in rap but I do like some of the songs and a few of the artists, just never felt the connection
