I don't know where what I said was wrong. McCown made the right throws. However they were very inaccurate. I don't doubt Jeffery's talent, I think he could end up better than Marshall, but Cutler favors Marshall. By taking Jeffery, you are gambling that Cutler stops favoring Marshall to the point that he forces it to him on many plays. I don't want to take that gamble with my fantasy team. Whenever Jeffery and Marshall are covered, the ball is probably going to Marshall.

You'd think a Bears QB at some point would realize there's a TE on the field and stop forcing it to either of them

It is your team, so do what you want, but in fantasy football unlike real life QBs just are not that important.

This is more a matter of opinion than a settled question. Even in a 10-team league, a QB who is head-and-shoulders above everyone else's QB is worth taking - and QBs are better investments because they miss fewer games than RBs (especially veteran pocket passers like Brees and Peyton). But as with TEs, it puts you behind in terms of building up RB/WR depth.

We can forget Peyton and his crazy year last year - those who took Brees enjoyed an advantage that not even Charles owners enjoyed (except against the Peyton owner of course).

Brandon Marshall should be nowhere near consideration in the first. At pick 5, I think you have to take an RB. The top 5 RBs are far and away the top dogs. They are:

Charles, McCoy, AP, Lacy, Forte.

Most likely, you can get Lacy 5th. Now, I personally have Monte Ball ranked 6th overall, but he may be available to you in round 2. He is ranked low on ESPN. If he is, that is who you should get. You will have 2 elite RBs to start your team if you take that approach and be a leg up on everyone. Next, I would look for Jordy, Jeffrey, or Antonio Brown as your WR1.

Don't take a defense until the late rounds and load up on RBs/WRs. TEs and QBs are luxury items.[/QUOTE

Yes. Elite WRs are valuable, but elite RBs are gold. Don't pass up an elite RB to get another position. There are only 6, and you just might be able to get 2 of them.

Follow this mans advice and you will do well IMO, unless your top RBs get injuried. That is the gamble you take with this approach.

I'd take RBs first. Only non RBs to take in first round would be Graham or Calvin Johnson, and that only if you are drafting in the 6 or 7 hole on down, imo.

I found last year, that I spent the season trying to find RBs to fill the hole left by RayRice's suckage, since I took him first, in about the 5 slot or so. Desperately searching...Terrible position to be in. Stock up on as many good backs as you can get, can find some receivers later.

Like others have said, wait to take a QB later. And don't be that guy who takes Defense way too early...

there are just not very many really productive RBs. Not many at all. Get any of those top ones if you have the opportunity!!

Yeah great RBs are getting rare now. Seems to be a good flow of WRs entering the NFL every year and there is enough good QBs since you only start one. so start with a RB and if you can pick up a good second one, do it.

The only people I have always gone to for advice on FF are in this 10 team league, and it's been like 8 years since I have done FF.

I just don't want to be "that guy". So, I post what I am planning and if Hooplans say it's not a good move, I rethink the idea.

Pretty good plan. . Only thing is, we've pretty much all weighed in about the same. . No QB's early, yet it's still your plan. :suds:

People are starting to pick D/ST. Should I start considering it?

Nice team so far

Cam usually top 5 QB even though I'm not a fan, I like Foles as I think Kelly's offense has another great year before defenses find a way to stop him and he looked sharp last night; personally I stay away from RGIII as he's injury risk

No on defense this early and this coming from a guy that likes to carry 2 to use back and forth; you can add some depth to your WR at this point

This is just me but I'm a big Ryan fan this year and I have been picking up Richardson although Gerhart is higher ranked by most people and gone by the time I grab Richardson
