Normally, I don't wish anyone harm. But when it comes to the Yankees and the Red Sox... "a curse on both of your 40-man rosters!"

(Now, I'm not saying that I would want to see their entire team go on the disabled list... they just need to underpeform while healthy, which is even better.)

Hmmm, I see a pattern here. Maybe the unthinkable is true: Perhaps Buck is the problem?

1. If your team is not hitting with RISP, perhaps small ball has to be considered as a last resort.
2. A tendency to constantly make excuses suggests that you can't handle responsibility. At least admit that your team didn't get the job done.
3. You have a bunch. Use it.
4. Do I need to say more?

Look, I have been screaming about #1 all year. Even if you make the playoff's, runs are hard to come by and scratching out a run here and there using small ball can be huge. Buck does not play small ball and when we actually will have to use it, we will not be very successful executing since we never bunt.

To be fair, Johnson isn't that bad even this year from the standpoint of ERA and FIP. His WHIP is a concern, though. I would say that Johnson does deserve a spot on the roster-- just not as the closer.

Perhaps Buck should have gone with a closer by committee throughout the entire season?
